Okay, some fun facts to know about me:
I love drawing
I grew up in a family of singers
I have a little brother and big sister
I have a puppy named Russia who is a huge shedder and isn’t actually a puppy as she is fully grown. Hehe.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
I’m an “Extra Spicy Cheetos”
Why and how did you get started in acting?
I got started in acting because I’ve always naturally been attracted to performing. My parents have been really supportive and helpful in allowing all of us to achieve our dreams.
Who was your role model as a child?
My role model is still my big sister. I don’t think there will ever be a day when I don’t look up to her.
How’s a typical day in your life?
To be honest, every day varies greatly from the day before it. But I suppose a normal day would involve me eating my grandmas amazing food for breakfast and heading off to school with my sister who teaches at the school I attend. At school everything is fun with my friends and then when I get home I diligently do my homework and sometimes get to watch anime. It sounds like I don’t do much but I swear I do!!!
What was your first acting role?
My very first role I ever landed was for a Barbie commercial. This also happened to be my first audition. I was nine years old. My first major film role I landed was “Furious 7”, which also happened to be my first audition for a film.
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
I believe all the people you meet play a part in what you become. I suppose my cousin, Alleia, has been the one to impact my life the most. This is for numerous and personal reasons. The both of us always change each other and go to one another for advice no matter what it is we are dealing with.
Please tell us about the film “The Fate of the Furious,” and about your character Samantha Hobbs?
The Fate of the Furious is the next movie for the Fast and Furious franchise. Although I have the entire script I don’t want to read it because I would much rather be surprised! From what I’ve seen from the trailer and my knowledge of the movie it looks like it’s going to be insanely dramatic. My role in the film is Samantha Hobbs, Luke Hobbs’ (Dwayne Johnson’s) daughter. Sam is a tough, independent character whom I look up to. She takes care of her dad as though the father/daughter relationship roles are reversed, with Samantha as the guardian.
How was working with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson?
Working with a star as well-known as Dwayne Johnson is surreal to think about. And he is such a kind and down-to-earth person. I watch him on set and his amazing work ethic. He is a real professional. He is also very charming and funny. I am so glad to have gotten the opportunity to meet not just him, but all of the cast members. Natalie Emmanuel is so sweet, Scott Eastwood and Kurt Russell were just hilarious. And oh my gosh, don’t get me started on Vin Diesel! He is just the greatest. And unbelievably generous and thoughtful. They all have such humble personalities. I am so proud to be part of the Fast and the Furious franchise.
What is next for Eden Estrella?
I am working on the new series, “Lifeline”, executively produced by Dwayne Johnson. I am looking forward to working on this project; it has an interesting storyline. And without giving too much away, it will give me the opportunity to really showcase my dramatic side.
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
One actress I really love is Drew Barrymore. I watch “50 First Dates” over and over again and laugh so much. She is so funny without trying to be funny.
Any advice to new young actors?
Young actors, we are all in this together. Remember that on top of everything else, always stay humble. God gives us gifts that are meant to be used for the good of others, not to benefit ourselves. This is a difficult industry to be in as a child so just remember to stay grounded. Don’t get carried away, be grateful with every opportunity you get. And remember you can’t get every role you audition for, but that doesn’t mean you don’t give 117%. And yes, that’s the exact percent you must put into all of your performances. You can do this. All of you.
Name one beauty product you can’t live without?
A product that is a must-have is a really good mascara. Mascara is just so fascinating to me. It’s so fun to apply and the sensation of it! I can’t even describe it! Like my lashes suddenly just extend forever!
Favorite designers?
My older sister has an MFA in art and is a graphic designer. I love my sister’s work I think she’s amazingly talented with everything she does.
In terms of clothing designers, I love Marc Jacobs. He is very fashion forward.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In five years I will be seventeen turning eighteen. Almost an adult! How insane is that?! I see myself entering a good college and putting my education first as I’ve done all my life. Hopefully in five years my film resume will have expanded greatly. It’s weird to imagine a seventeen-year-old me, I can’t think of that in an adequate manner.
What was the last book you read?
The last book I read was Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. I decided to check it out from the library because all my life I’ve seen people reading it so I wanted to see what the big deal was about. And let me tell you, it was such a good book. I may or may not have developed a crush on the main character thirteen-year-old Brian but shh.
What are guilty pleasures food wise?
I would have to say hot Cheetos. Hot Cheetos are my weakness and secret love.
What would be the dream holiday vacation, and who would you go with?
Someday I would like to go to the Philippines with my big sister and my cousin. My mom was born there, but none of us kids have ever been, although we eat the food and mom disciplines us as if we were in the Philippines. But she tells us of the beautiful white sand beaches and grilling fish on an open fire and drinking coconut juice.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time I either draw, binge anime, or just try to live life as happily as possible because that’s all that really matters.
What do you like to watch on TV?
I love cartoons, dramatic shows, Netflix and chill, shows in the time period of the 1800’s, mysteries, thrillers, rom-coms and anime.
What’s your idea of a perfect Sunday?
A ginormous bag of hot Cheetos I can share with my cousin while we watch the anime, Fairytail.
Do you support any charities?
I hope I have the opportunity to do so in the near future. Since I was little, my dream has been to make enough money to help out a ton of charities, especially for kids I need.
What do you think of social media?
I think our generation spends too much time on social media however I think it’s a good way to stay connected with friends. But the real world and real interactions still tops any other form of connecting.
