Hi Fuzz, please tell us a little about you?
Hello Naluda, my name is Fawaz Ibrahim aka Fuzz. I am 22 years old and was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia with a family of 6. I grew up on the beach of Black Rock and moved to the Northern suburbs in my late childhood years where I’ve been living ever since!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Ambitious, diligent, and trustworthy.
How it all started?
I began singing and acting when I was 10 years old. I would put on my own mini show for the whole school bus every couple days! From there, I began practicing and focusing on my talents more seriously.
When was it that you first realized that you wanted to pursue music as a career?
It was in my early teen years, I was about 15 years old at the time and I was in high school. I used to spend a lot of time watching and studying movies, TV shows, and MTV specifically. I began developing my own style and building connections, eventually I realized that I truly wanted to pursue this professionally and with hard work and determination, I was able to get where I needed to be.
What is your musical background?
I was able to teach myself how to play piano was I was 16 years old. I also took some basic guitar lessons as well.
What kind of music do you listen to normally?
I truly love everything, but I listen to a lot of RnB, Pop and sometimes a little bit of Jazz.
Explain your sound in 3 words?
Exhilarating, exciting, investigative
Tell us about your hit song “With The Lights On” Ft. Lil Pap?
The single was #10 on the UK charts and # 27 on the upfront club charts, which were both great successes for me, considering it was an indie release. It was a great experience and I sold thousands of copies in digital release. It really helped everything kick off for me.
Now tell us about “Change The Path”?
“Change The Path” is a single I wrote from the heart. It is truly a song which almost everyone can relate to differently and in personal ways. Basically, if you have experienced personal struggles, whether it’s with family, friends or just with yourself, you will be able to find aspects of the song that relate to you. I have been through so much in my life and “Change The Path” was my way of displaying my desires to go back in time and alter past experiences I have gone through, both good and bad. The name of the single is not meant to mean you should physically change your path, but instead, to accept your past, move on, and live presently. It’s meant to encourage people, and just give them that bravery that people sometimes need.
What were your influences for the EP, both musically and content-wise?
Well I was listening to a lot radio at the time and heard some deep house music and tropical pop music from artists like Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Various (Justin Bieber’s Producer), and Diplo. Those sounds really inspired me and helped me develop my EP and my take on the style.
What is your next goal as a musician?
Definitely to perform much more and all over the world. Also, it would be amazing to open a show for some of my favorite performers and do some collaborations with them as well.
What are the five things you can’t live without?
I would say my iPhone, my laptop, my recording software, my pets and the gym.
What music we can find in your iPod?
Honestly, everything. I have music by Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Usher, 2Pac, Nicki Minaj, Michael Buble, Cher, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, etc. I love all kinds of genres and styles.
Any loves other than music?
I love acting and am currently working with Brett A. Moore and Bruce W. Moore, who are both amazing upcoming producers and screen writers. We are working on “Eleven Days In Hell,” a movie I am playing a lead role in alongside Jim Caviezel and Holly Hunter.
Best advice ever given?
Have the courage to live a life that is true to yourself and not a life that others expect of you.
Do you get nervous before a performance?
Of course. Almost everyone can become nervous. I think my nerves come from being a perfectionist and not wanting anything to go wrong.
Any advice for upcoming singers?
Stay humble and true to yourself. Build connections and relationships with people and try not to burn bridges in the industry. The number one secret is to work smart, work hard, and never give up.
If you weren’t singing, what would you be doing?
Probably working in my dad’s demolition and construction company, save me!
Any exciting news you want to share with us?
I am working on another single “Heart is Bleeding,” which will be released sometime around November 2016. I am also working on another major motion picture, and a few other projects that I cannot publicly announce as of yet but I will keep everyone updated through my social media.
How important is Social Media for you?
Social media is extremely important to me. It is a great way for me to connect with family, friends and most importantly, my fans.
