Insomniac, the producer behind major music festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Life Is Beautiful and Nocturnal Wonderland, has announced an exciting upcoming event in conjunction with the The Patch, a program created by SOUR PATCH KIDS that supports emerging musicians who are on the road by immersing them into a community of like-minded creatives, amplifying their voice and providing them with a place to stay that fuels inspiration. Since The Patch launch in 2014, a community of more than 250 artists has been created; giving hope to many more aspiring musicians that their goals can be attained in this industry with the help of this program.
Much like Insomniac’s “Discovery Project,” striving to give a voice to emerging artists in the electronic music world and discover the scene’s best up-and-coming talent, The Patch hopes to bring today’s unknown musicians into the spotlight through editorial exposure via media channels, live music opportunities, full ownership of music and a unique artist collective intertwined with a living space in Brooklyn that’s now headed to Los Angeles. Insomniac Records’ collaboration with BMI & Sour Patch Kids House’s to host “The Patch” writing camp on August 31st & September 1st in Hollywood, will offer a haven where artists can refuel, recharge and be inspired, so they can continue focusing on what they do best: making music. Previous participants have included G-Eazy, Halsey and Zella Day along with this years list of mentors: Bonnie x Clyde, Hype Turner x Clips Ahoy, El Dusty and Karra, amongst many others.
