He writes for the newspaper el Universal, Revista Estilo Mexico and is a correspondent for fashion weeks in Brazil, Paris, Milan, New York, to name a few.
On this occasion he was in charge of the Fashion Production of the Swimwear Fashion Shooting Project @swimwearfashionshooting in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.

I have been in the fashion business for almost 30 years. I started as a fashion merchandizer at the beginning and now I combine my job as a fashion stylist, fashion show producer and fashion journalist as well.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Dreamer, hard working, perfectionist.
What do you think are your strengths in the fashion industry?
I’m very prefessional in all I do. Ethical and well connected. With all this years in the trade, everybody knows me. lol
Do you have a model to follow that inspires you?
Yes, I admire Edward Enninful, former stylist for W magazine and some of the greatest campaigns. Now he is editor in chief of Vogue UK.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
Fashion wise? My grandmother and my sisters.
When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?
An architect.
How and when did you start being a fashion stylist and producer?
In 1989 I started as a fashion merchandizer and stylist of campaigns for Ocean Pacific, the beachwear American brand arriving to Mexico, I started because a friend of mine moved out of Mexico city and give me her position. I was lucky!
What advice would you give to the next generations trying to become stylists or fashion producers?
To read and take a look to all the magazines they could, from all over the world, to work hard …..and specially to be humble.
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
Not to trust people I don’t know. Don’t give away all my contacts to my assistants, some of them are not trust worthy and staved on my back.
Best advice you have followed?
To know how much to charge for your work, and to ask to pay you on time.
In the fashion industry, we are used to seeing people surrounded by a lot of luxury and an extravagant life, how have you survived all this throughout your career?
I stayed focused in my goals. To invest in your future (have your own place to live, for example) and not spend your money in buying material things you cant afford.

Mostly all of them. In fashion: Vogue Mexico, Harpers Bazaar, GQ, Rob report, Revolution, Life & Style, Gentleman.
Celebrity magazines: Vanity Fair, People, Hola, OK, Gente, Caras.
And which magazine or project is still on your bucket list?
Elle magazine, W, Love, CR, and many more.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
The late Diana Vreeland, she is my idol. A total icon
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is…?
A walk in parque Mexico near my apartment, then breakfast in a open air café, and a nice lunch at “kiin” my favorite vietnamese restaurant. I’m a foodie.
Something people don’t know about you?
I’m a very shy person, but people I don’t know thinks I’m arrogant.
Name 3 things you can’t live without?
My partner, my phone and traveling, in that particular order.
What is your favorite healthy food?
My healthy smoothie I take every weekday.
And your favorite cheat food?
Greasy mexican food.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Be healthy, the opportunity to travel and to attend to an amazing fashion show in paris.
Do you support any charities?
Yes, I have done free styling work for campaigns for the prevention of breast cancer.
Can you describe a typical day in your life?
Get up early, breakfast, attend meetings, go to show rooms to pick up clothes and go to a photo shootings.
Who is your favorite actor/actress? and why?
I admire the work of Glenn Close, Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchet, Tilda Swinton, among others.
Who is your biggest beauty inspiration?
The timeless beauty of Lauren Hutton.
Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why?
I like Linda Evangelista in her time for her ability to transform. Designer I like now are: Simone Rocha, Jw Anderson, and the work of Yves Saint Lauren for their new, radical and fresh ideas.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Classic with a twist, I try to dress according to my age and no to look trendy or a clothes horse (no logomania, please)
Five years from now you will be….
Living in my house out of Mexico city, semi-retired and doing only certain projects I like.
What do you think of the social media?
It’s a great tool to show your body of work, and see the world on the palm of your hand, but it can be harmful if you don’t use them in a ethical way.
