Check out our interview with actor and WEtv series Kold & Windy star Shomari Love.
The series follows hip hop and drill star Malika as she works to create a better life for herself on the south side of Chicago. Love plays Dirty, a psychopathic killer and true “J-City” soldier who will do anything to protect Shelly Winter (Kaja Brielle) and their crew, even if an innocent life is taken in the process.
He is also no stranger to the world of film. He recently brought his talent to a lead role in the Saban Films thriller Take the Night, which is available on-demand now. Additionally, Love wrapped production as the love interest of Jordana Brewster’s character Ruby in On Our Way.

I was born and raised in Queens, NY. My family background is Jamaican, Canadian and Sierra Leonian. My passions are art, travel, and sports.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Determined, Resourceful, and Giving
How did you get started into acting?
I decided to challenge myself by taking a leap of faith and exploring something I knew nothing about.
How has this changed your life?
This has put me in a place to learn a lot, meet new people, and most importantly practice discipline.
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
The best part is getting to play with a new script and create that character’s world. The worst part might be some of the idle time between projects because you’re excited to move on to the next.
How do you prepare for a role?
I do a good amount of research on the character’s background, type, and information provided in the text. Scene study and analysis typically goes hand in hand.
Tell us about your work in WEtv series “Kold & Windy?”
I play a character name Dirty. He’s a part of a Shelly Winters crew and doubles as a sound engineer. On the streets he is not a person others enjoy crossing paths with. His motto is vengeance.

What’s your advice for the newer actors?

Patience and perseverance. What is for you will be for you.
How would your best friend describe you?

If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
“Perseverance is Key”. The statement is true and fully describes almost of my endeavors in life. Either the ability to persevere or the lack thereof has determined the outcome
