Hi Christian, please tell us a little about you?
I’m an actor and writer, originally from Chicago & now living between Los Angeles and New York. Also, I’m an Aquarius!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Sarcastic , Ambitious, & Human!
How did you get started into acting?
I started doing community theater when I was 5 years old and soon after falling in love with acting, I convinced my parents to let me audition for an agent in Chicago around the age of 10. From there I started working in print/commercials until I made the move out to LA.
How has this changed your life?
Acting and moving to LA changed the entire trajectory of my life and I’m better for it. My confidence and freedom to express myself blossomed!
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
The best part is the opportunity to be creative and work with like-minded individuals. I would say the worst part is the inconsistency.
How do you prepare for a role?
I take a different approach for each part but I usually start with breaking down the character and analyzing their needs, desires, and interests. I then go work with my acting coach on the part and sometimes even create a playlist for the character, to get me in the correct mindset to play him.
Tell us about your work in the new Tube movie “Crushed!?”
Crushed is a fun loving teen rom-com about a girl on her senior trip to Cabo! The trip ends up going awry and all this crazy stuff goes down. I had a blast shooting it and working with the cast and crew.
Tell us about your role as Conrad?
Conrad is a prep-school kid, who doesn’t have the brains or drive to actually attend the school, but carries the immense privilege to get by anyways. He’s not the nicest guy and definitely loves picking fun at Kate (Bebe Wood) and making her life a living hell. Him & his best friend Luke (Tyler Adkins) are joined at the hip and constantly carry out pranks to cause mayhem. It was wild to play such a crazy character.
And about your experience working on the Saved By The Bell reboot?
I’ve recurred on both seasons of the Saved By The Bell reboot thus far and I absolutely love it! My character “Nate” is a bit of a golden retriever himbo that just wants to have fun & get by. Working on the show has been one of the best experiences of my life! Especially because the cast is so extraordinary.
What other projects you have been part of?
I’ve worked on a number of indie films & completed guest spots on shows like American Housewife on ABC, Dear White People on Netflix, & Ryan Murphy’s new upcoming biopic series titled, “Monster”.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I love playing roles that I can personally connect to. Whether that be a backstory I have shared similar experiences to or simply a nuanced & three-dimensional character that is well written.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Getting to fufill my creative itch and step out of my comfort zone.
What’s your advice for the newer actors?
Start auditioning for student films & shorts through online casting websites and build up your resume. Make sure you really want it because it’s not easy work & a long road, but rewarding nonetheless.
What would say are the greatest lessons you learned so far in this business?
Dont take stuff so personally!
How would your best friend describe you?
From my best friend Brielle: “He’s joyful, organized & always down for a good time.” Hahaha.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
“Trying My Best, Dude!”
What’s next for Christian Weissmann in 2022?
Writing more essays and continuing to work on my poetry book! Then shooting a movie in New York very soon.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Avocado.
And your favorite cheat food?
Pasta!!! All the way.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Knowing that you are enough and that your life is more than enough!
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Frank Sinatra because he’s a style & music icon.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Amalfi Coast backpacking trip with my boyfriend.
Best advice ever given?
Today is just today. Every day is a new chance & new beginning.
Do you support any charity?
Yes I’m a big supporter of The Trevor Project and The Cameron Boyce Foundation.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Hopefully continuing to act & write and maybe even directing.
Favorite song? Why?
Stay by Mac Miller.
