Check out our interview with talented actress and recording artist Kendall Monroe who just released her debut single Over You. Inspired by Madison Beer, Ms. Monroe uses a bad, past relationship as a vehicle to empower young women to believe in themselves.
Not your typical break-up song, Over You perfectly blends a unique Indie-Pop-Fusion sound with a catchy lyric. Produced by multi-platinum Pop/Hip Hop/R&B producer and songwriter Andrew Lane (Backstreet Boys) and co-written by Kendall Monroe and Mimi Jules, the song has been a long time in the making.
Over You speaks to anyone who has been mistreated or felt disrespected in a relationship. The song inspires the listener to believe in themselves and find the strength from within to forget the past and look toward the future.

Hi! thanks for taking the time to chat with us! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself, Who is Kendall Monroe in your own words.
I am a recording artist, actress and philanthropist based in Los Angeles. I love fashion hanging with my friends and being in the studio!
How and when exactly did you realize you had a passion for singing?
There wasn’t an exact moment when I realized I had a passion for singing. I’ve always loved singing since I could remember. I was always singing Disney songs in the car as a little girl and loved to do karaoke.
How important is developing a personal style when it comes to singing?
Developing a personal style is very important because is good to set yourself apart from other artists.
What is the story behind “Over You”?
I decided to do this song as a way to inspire other people with lyrics that empowered them to move past a failed relationship by believing in themselves and pulling strength from within. I picked music that was more upbeat than a classic breakup song because even though it is a breakup song it’s one that sends the message that you can be better after a failed relationship and happier. I also wanted a unique sound so I went for a indie pop.fusion with a catchy beat and lyrics so people remembered the beat and lyrics and hopefully replayed the message of the song in their minds every time they hear the song.
Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
My mom is a singer and has always been my main music inspiration. She has always played every genre of music and has made music a huge part of my life
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
I would love to collab with Nessa Barrett, MGK, or Lil Huddy
What’s something we should know about you that might surprise us?
When I wake up from a dream I can go right back to sleep and resume the dream where I left off!
