Hi Nina, please tell us a little about you?
I was born and raised in Denmark but left at an early age to pursue my dreams. I studied all over the world and lived many lives. Ballerina, amateur boxer, rockstar touring with my band, to finally settling down in Los Angeles and focusing on my acting career. 🙂
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Passionate, compassionate, stubborn.
How did you get started in acting?
I’ve been a performer most of my life. It always felt natural to me. My Russian grandparents and my father inspired me.
How has this changed your life?
I’ve never done anything else. I would do different jobs to make money, but I’ve been a performer since I was four years old.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
The uncertainty, I LOVE and HATE it!
How do you prepare for a role?
I study! I become a detective. It’s one of my favorite parts of the job.
Tell us about your work with Seize The Night?
I play GG in Seize The Night. She’s a goth singer with a dark secret. Well, that was me! I spent half my life singing in rock/goth bands, and I had lots of dark secrets before I got into recovery.
And about your role as GG?
She’s very close to me. I’ve felt everything she’s feeling in this movie! Even her wardrobe was my own. She’s very close to me.
What other projects have you been part of?
I’ve been part of lots of other projects. Most recently, “Hell Hath No Fury,” where I play the lead, a French resistance fighter in a WW2 movie.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
Anything challenging, something I can sink my teeth into. Something where I feel I’m being utilized. Powerful men or women, I can learn from.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Getting to live in these women’s shoes. Especially historical figures. I love giving these women a voice!
What’s your advice for the newer actors?
If you can do anything else, do that! Acting shouldn’t be a choice; it should be something you are and can’t live without.
What would you say are the greatest lessons you have learned so far in this business?
Don’t take things personally.
How would your best friend describe you?
Tough and sweet. 😉
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
Hell Yeah!! Because if it’s not a Hell Yeah, then don’t do it.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
What’s next for Nina Bergman in 2022?
I just finished a movie in Canada that got announced at the Cannes film festival, called Cold Meat, that I’m starring in with Allen Leech that’s coming out. And I’m doing two more films this year!
What is your favorite healthy food?
Vegan clean food.
And your favorite cheat food?
Sweet potato fries from Veggie Grill.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Living my truth, doing what I love, and being a voice for the voiceless.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I always had a fascination with Frank Sinatra.
Best advice ever given?
Be you; everyone else is taken.
Do you support any charity?
Yes, many! Any charity that fights for animals.
Where do you see yourself and your career five years from now?
I’m starring and producing my own movies. And I’m making the music for the movies while working on other female-empowering stories.
