Check out our interview with actress and singer-songwriter Olivia Sanabia.
Olivia stars as Charlotte Wrather in Disney Channel series Coop and Cami. A perfectionist, Charlotte enjoys performing but tries to avoid participating in Coop’s “Would You Wrather” show whenever possible. Sanabia is also known for her starring role as Kelly Quinn in Amazon’s Just Add Magic, based on the book of the same name by Cindy Callaghan. In her free time, she sings and plays the piano, guitar, and ukulele. Outside of entertainment, she is also passionate about giving back and donates her time to the non-profit organization, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer.

Hi Olivia, please tell us a little about you?
Hi! I’m Olivia Sanabia! I’m a 16 year old actress and singer. You might know me from Amazon’s Just Add Magic or Disney Channel’s Coop and Cami Ask the World. I’m a big advocate for kindness and for raising awareness for childhood cancer!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
I would describe myself as passionate, strong, and as a dreamer.
Name one thing fans might not know about you?
You guys might not know that I listen to Christmas music year round!
Who is your biggest supporter?
Everyone in my family is my biggest supporter. They have all been so kind and given up so much so that I can continue to work toward my dreams.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
The biggest influence in my life is definitely my Mom. She is the classiest of them all. I hope to be half the woman she is!
What is your own definition of happiness?
My definition of happiness is being confident in your own skin so that you can love and give back to others.
Now about your acting career, what was your first acting role?
My first acting job was a print job with Jennifer Garner. At the time, I was so young that I wasn’t familiar with her work yet. Now that I’ve seen all her amazing films, I would jump at the chance to meet and work with her again. My main takeaway from that job was how at-home I felt on set.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
The best part of being an actress is moving your audience, whether it’s making them laugh or cry. If people leave the theater or finish watching the show feeling moved, that’s all I could ask for. The worst part of being an actress is the rejection. You definitely have to grow thick skin so that the rejection doesn’t distract you from your goals.
Tell us about your work on Disney Channel series “Coop & Cami Ask the World?”
Coop & Cami Ask the World, is a family sitcom about siblings who have a live-streaming show where they ask the fans ‘would you rather’ questions. The show also focuses on a single-parent home and all the antics that the four siblings create!
And about your role as Charlotte Wrather?
I play Charlotte, oldest of the four siblings. Charlotte is headstrong, determined, and passionate about everything she does. Although she sometimes get annoyed with her younger siblings, she loves them and always has their backs!
And about Amazon’s “Just Add Magic”, and your role as Kelly Quinn?
Just Add Magic is about Kelly Quinn and her two best friends. The show is about their journey with a magical cookbook and all the craziness that ensues because of the magic. This show is truly magical and has so much heart. I play Kelly Quinn, who is a natural born leader and always wants to do the right thing. She has such a kind heart!
3 things you can’t leave your house without?
I can’t leave my house without my phone, lipstick, and my AirPods.
What music do you like?
I love lots of genres including old jazz and pop.
Your favorite song? Why?
My favorite song is La Vie en Rose. It’s so romantic and beautiful. I love it because it’s from one of my favorite movies!
Any loves other than acting?
I love playing and writing music. I’ve been a singer for as long as I can remember and more recently, I learned how to play piano and guitar. Being able to use those instruments to write my own music has been so lovely.
Who is your biggest beauty inspiration?
My biggest beauty inspiration would have to be Lily Collins. I love everything about her style!
What is your favorite healthy food?
My favorite healthy food is cauliflower. It definitely tastes the best when cooked in turmeric.
And your favorite cheat food?
My favorite cheat food is French fries!!!!!
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would describe my style as classic and feminine.
What’s next for Olivia Sanabia in 2019/2020?
I’m so looking forward to releasing original music very soon. It’s been a long journey of finding my sound, so I am beyond excited to share it with everyone! I’m also looking forward to continuing to film more episodes of Coop & Cami and a few other projects that you guys will have to stay tuned for.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would choose to meet Audrey Hepburn. She is a role model for so many people (including myself), and I would love to get some insight and learn her ways.
What do you like to watch on tv?
I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan! I watch it on repeat!
Best advice ever given?
The best advice I’ve ever been given is simple. Work hard and be kind.
Five years from now you will be…?
Hopefully, I will be continuing to do work that I am inspired by and that inspires others. I hope to have done a lot more work with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
My idea of a perfect Sunday is an at-home brunch and then just spending time with my family!
What do you think of Social Media?
I think social media is an opportunity to spread positivity and kindness. Although some don’t use it for those reasons, we should chose to see it as a platform to stand up for what we believe in!
