Hi FIREROSE, please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a singer/songwriter from Sydney, Australia. The US is my home now and I love it here.
How did you get started in the music industry?
Music has been a huge part of my life ever since I can remember. I thought every kid was writing songs about their experiences each day after school. Turns out I was pretty weird. There was never any doubt in my mind that my calling was to write songs. I’ve been very blessed to get to perform and record mine with some incredibly talented artists and producers.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I feel music actually chose me! I’ve always processed the wild ride of life by writing songs about what I’m going through. It’s often been therapeutic and life saving for me. I’ve been influenced and inspired by countless brilliant artists. Far too many to list! But, Cyrus is certainly at the top of that list.
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Passionate, optimistic and grateful.
Do you play any instruments?
Yes, I play the piano. I’ve never actually had a lesson – I taught myself to play by ear. Cyrus assures me playing by heart is something to be celebrated.
Tell us about your new song “New Day.”
Cyrus and I had been playing and writing new music together over FaceTime and Zoom throughout the pandemic and “New Day” became an important song to both of us as we feel people everywhere have been praying for a new day. “New Day” was created to inspire hope during these uncertain times.
How was working with Billy Ray Cyrus?
Cyrus is a phenomenal songwriting and singing partner. In addition to being an exceptionally unique iconic artist, he has been an incredible supporter of my music since we met years ago. We just speak the same harmonic language and it’s been so inspiring writing and playing together.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Getting to hear from fans that they love the music is for sure the most rewarding part. I’m honored every single time I hear my songs have brought a spark of joy to someone’s day.
What’s next for FIREROSE in 2021?
Definitely performing “New Day” live with Cyrus! We have some super exciting shows coming up. I can’t wait to feel the live energy rocking with fans in person after this challenging chapter in all of our lives.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Great question – I’d love to meet Elvis Presley. Jamming with him would be out of this world.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Writing and collaborating with more music legends like Cyrus. Also touring, recording and spreading as much light and positivity as I can through my songs.
