Live. Love. Share.
These words pretty much sum me up in the fewest amount of words. That said, each one of those words are just the tip of an iceberg that stretches miles down into the beautiful abyss.
You’ve done a lot of acting work; what do you have out this year?
I’m grateful to have so many projects coming out in the next year or two. Unfortunately, they don’t always tell me when things are getting released until the rollout plan is about to begin. I do know of a couple of films that will be released this year, but you have to keep this just between us 😉 Keep a look out for movies released in 2023: “Bone Cold,” “Her Fiancé’s Double Life,” “Broken Ties,” “The Plus One,” and “A Royal Christmas Holiday,” to mention a few.
How do you balance life and entertainment work?
Have you seen the balancing act with plates on sticks while standing on a circus ball? That’s my life in a nutshell.
Seriously, I have to admit that I don’t really have a life and entertainment balance. I do my best to find moments here and there for self-care, study, and family, but this chapter of my life is really about building, creating, and growing in the industry, so I’m not really focused on balance. If everything goes to plan this year, “balance” will be a dominant focus for the next chapter of my life.
How do you plan your day?
Because I spend most of my days on set or preparing for the next day on set, my schedule changes constantly, so it’s really hard to make consistent plans or have specific routines. I guess the best way to answer that question is that each night before I go to sleep, I look at my shooting schedule and estimate the amount of free time I’ll have here and there, and then I make a best-case scenario plan for how I’d like to fill those moments whether it’s 10 minutes or an hour between scenes. Then I prepare for anything to happen and for all my plans to go out the window!
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
The best part of being an actor is the chance to expand your sense of self, grow and deepen your compassion and love of humanity, and create and work with some of the most inspiring people on the planet. There is nothing like acting, and you’re always learning something new and studying something new about what makes us human, and you get to have a lot of fun doing it.
The worst part of being an actor is the distance between you and the people you love and care for. Sometimes, I feel that when I go to shoot a movie, I’m taking a trip to the moon, and when I get back, everything around me has changed. This can be hard to adjust to when nephews are being born, and life around us is still happening, and you want to be a part of the moments that matter to the people you love.
Do you have any of your own film projects that you are creating?
I have a few things in the works of my own that I’d love to bring to life later this year.
Who lights your creative fire?
PEOPLE light my creative fire! We live in such an amazing time where you can search for WHATEVER you want to find. I like to search for people who have accomplished incredible things, who have overcome the odds to change our world for the better, or people who are WILDY talented in the entertainment field, covering music to the performing arts. Talent is contagious, and I love filling my mind with the accomplishments of others; there’s nothing more stimulating than the reminder that you are capable of so much more than you realize.
What’s your advice for people wanting to be part of the entertainment industry?
Never give up; always look for answers and get creative! If you dive deeper into these three things, you will make it in this industry.
