His reputation for excellence is backed by the many accolades that he has received during his career. Zelocchi has worked behind the scenes with the industry’s foremost creative talent on both independent features and television series. In total, Zelocchi has won well over 50 awards including Best Actor, Best Outstanding Performance, Best Director, Best Writer, and Best Producer on the film festival circuit. Hi Enzo, please tell us a little about you?
I love to be free and to think with my own head. I analyze everything and I keep the negativity and pollution out of my universe while keeping love in my heart. I also love to create.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Persistent, loyal, and strategic.
How did you get started in acting?
I started by being a model in Milan. Shortly after, I did some commercials and booked a TV show.
How has this changed your life?
It definitely made me more open with my feelings and vulnerable. Acting makes me go places where I have never been before with my mind.
What is the best and worst part of being an actor/producer?
The best part is that you are more in charge with what is going on in a production and the worst part is that you are always on the frontline for everything.
Tell us about your work in “The First Secret?”
After being considered to play the new Zorro (the project got canceled), I wanted to come out with my own franchise. I did some research and found an incredible story that inspired Ian Fleming to invent the secret 007 agent “James Bond.” I developed a trilogy: It’s 007 meets Batman with superpowers, an epic story of lust, power, politics and betrayal that will raise the biggest Hispanic superhero in the history of Hollywood. “The First Secret” is the first film of the series. We hope to resume production as soon as possible.
How do you prepare for a role?
I do a playlist of songs, I storyboard the character, I create imaginary past memories, and watch some of my favorite movies.
What other projects you have been part of?
Quite a few! My filmography is available on IMDB. Recently after breaking historical records on social media (more specifically on Instagram) with over 200 million views on the trailer of “The Source,” it opened up a whole different prospective in terms of opportunities and creativity. The best is yet to come.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I like to play the superhero, action figure, hero, gangster, crazy maniac with a bad dark side and real dramatic roles. I like these roles because I can feel them under my skin.
Do you ever get nervous?
Not so much. My secrets are: confidence, relaxation, and concentration.
Now you are a big influencer on Instagram, can you share some tips for keeping your account interesting?
Quality content (quality is better than quantity), be inspirational, motivate people, show your good heart and be consistent with your brand/image.
You are followed by so many people. How do you feel about that pressure of doing always the right thing, and encourage people to follow their dreams?
I’m just being myself so I don’t really feel pressure. I love to inspire others and motivate them to bring on this world the best of themself. A man/woman without a dream is like a small rock in the desert.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
Read the book “The Prince” by Niccolo Machiavelli and history books about the Roman Empire, Greek society and The British Empire. History repeats itself in a circle. If you know your past, you’ll have a better understanding of the future. By learning all of this, you’ll be able to better strategize in modern society.
Which project is still on your bucket list?
The Invincible. It’s The Gladiator’ meets ‘300’ is the story of the greatest ‘Publius Cornelius Scipio’ (Scipio Africanus), a Roman general who had the rare military distinction of never losing a battle in his career and in military history. We are working on it.
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
You see and live life in a different way…with a touch of insanity. It is a journey that allows you to express yourself to the deepest level and enjoy some of the success. My fun is my way of living. On the down side, I don’t get to spend much time with my family or have the opportunity to fully grow and explore some relationships.
What’s next for Enzo Zelocchi in 2021?
Several projects, including two TV pilots.
What is your favorite song? And why?
I have many, but Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” brings back some good memories.
How would your best friend describe you?
Funny, loyal, straightforward, and transparent.
Any loves other than acting?
Producing.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Don Rickles, he was incredibly funny. Thanks to YouTube, I got to see some great performances.
Best advice ever given?
Trust your instinct and intuition. Love and respect yourself.
How’s a typical day in your life?
I wake up and have a shake and double espresso. I check my schedule, phone, emails and get ready for whatever I have to do that day. For important things I prepare the night before.
Name one your strengths?
Persistence.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Go to the beach, get a massage, relax, and in the evening start to plan my week.
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
We are the Champions by Queen
What is your own definition of happiness?
To Love, be loved and have enough money to live a good life without stress.
Do you support any charities?
I have supported some charities in the past, and one of my dreams is to start a foundation that really helps people and communities directly.
What is your favorite food?
Steak with porcini mushrooms and french fries.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
On top of a mountain, which can be a metaphor for many things.
How would you describe your fashion style?
European casual and elegant.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think social media is a great media and marketing tool that allows you to create a genuine and loyal relationship with your audience and followers.
