Hi John, please tell us a little about you?
I am a U.K Singer/Songwriter born on the East Coast of the U.K Norfolk ,Great Yarmouth.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Soulful, Truthful, Pop
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
Singer/Songwriters like Mariah Carey, Luther Vandross, The Bee Gees and notable Songwriter’s like Diane Warren, Max Martin, Carole King.
Do you play any instrument?
Yes, Classically trained Pianist & Electric Organ. Dad brought home an old organ one day and I started to teach myself then had lessons and did my grades then moved onto commercial pop music after I wanted to learn how you write a pop song like the ones I heard on the radio.
Do you ever get nervous?
All the time! It’s a problem a lot of performers have and I have had real stage fright before some major gigs I’ve played. It’s hard to overcome just before you get on stage – but when you do it’s amazing how quickly those nerves go, especially when the audience are an amazing audience and want you to do well.
Tell us about your new single “Don’t Wanna Die?”
Don’t Wanna Die is all about being addicted to a bad relationship that you can’t get out of and you cant face life with them but cant face it without them either.
What’s the story behind the song?
Like all my songs , it is based on a previous relationship I’ve been in. I have since freed myself from that situation thank God!
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Having your fans relate to the songs you write. There’s nothing like hearing people sing back your lyrics to you at a gig or say your song changed the way they thought about something or moved them – those moments are really special
What book should every entrepreneur read?
Not sure there’s a specific one , but generally reading successful peoples Bios & Autobiographies, for an Entrepreneur is a always a good way of opening your mind to peoples mistakes and goals achieved.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Don’t worry what people think of you, and you can do anything if you stay positive and motivated. You only live once!
How would your best friend describe you?
Fun, musical and hopefully there for them whenever they need me.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
You Only Live Once So Go For It Now! – its never too late to live in the now and dream as big as you can and achieve those goals and dreams .
What’s next for John Galea in 2023?
My 6th E.P – ‘The Art Of Collaboration’ is coming out later this year which will feature tracks I’ve worked on with various Rappers, Soul Singers and producers & writers. I love songwriting with other talent and loved being able to work on new music for the new E.P. We should be shooting a new music video as well for the 2nd single to follow Don’t Wanna Die.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Probably Chicken Ramen, it feels really healthy compared to a lot of the food I am eating at the moment.
And your favorite cheat food?
Cake! – Especially coffee cake I love that so much.
How would you explain your fashion style?
Colourful & full of logos. I love fashion and find it a real expression of who I am and what I stand for.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Contentment in myself and looking into my Dogs eyes. Shes so beautiful.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I’ve been lucky enough to meet a lot of the people musically I look up to but if I could meet someone, I would love to meet my Grandparents from Ireland I never got to meet. Think that would be amazing and hear their stories about who they met and where they grew up etc.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Again I travel a lot so I have been blessed to have visited many countries from China to Brazil, from Australia to Thailand so dream holiday wise, I would say maybe Egypt or Jordan the history around those places is amazing.
Best advice ever given?

Always where I can
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Fingers crossed a Debut Full Album released and heading out on a world tour for it.
What is you favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
At the moment it has to be Think Twice – Celine Dion! That is how you write a song!
What do you think of Social Media?
I think its a great tool to spread your music or content out. It is changing a lot at the moment with verification etc but the main thing to use it for good as much as you can and not to compare your journey with others.
