I’m a Chicago Orthodontist and travel blogger. I was born and raised in the medieval city of Veliko Tarnovo, one of the oldest towns and capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire. After high school, I moved to Sofia (Bulgaria) to study dentistry and I finally moved to Chicago in 2011 to complete my residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I run the Bubbly Moments blog, focused on luxurious destinations and exclusive places. I love reading, traveling, running, yoga, and spending time with my family and beagle pup, Max.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Driven, reliable, hard-working.
Who is your biggest supporter?
My mom is definitely my biggest supporter and constant believer in whatever I do in life. She trusts my decisions, instincts, and motivates me to stay on track. She always goes out of her way to make sure that I’m happy. I can always count on her even when I ask her on a Thursday evening to travel with me to Venice on a Saturday morning.
How did you get started in the industry?
Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to travel the world, to see what’s out there, and to experience different cultures and cuisines. I spent a big part of my early 20s traveling in Europe as part of a dental student organization. After I completed my residency in Orthodontics in Chicago, I started traveling once again more often and I was eager to share my adventures. The more I traveled, the more inspired I was to start a blog, Bubbly Moments, and share my experiences.
Best advice you have followed?
I’m a strong believer in seeing any experience in a positive light, no matter how awful it might have seemed at the time. Every situation will teach you something valuable, garner a wealth of lessons, and build up aspects of your personality. Use every opportunity to learn something new and keep an open mind.
Tell us about your work as a Board-Certified Orthodontist?
I have been practicing Orthodontics for 5 years now. Orthodontics is my dream job! I find it exceptionally rewarding to provide my patients with a beautiful smile that will last a lifetime and to improve their self-esteem through the art and science of orthodontics. I had also shared my experience and knowledge with the undergraduate and postgraduate dental students by teaching at the University of Illinois at Chicago for 4 years.
Where people can contact you?

And now you are a great photographer, where the love for this comes from?
The more I traveled over the years, the more I became passionate about photography. I believe traveling and photography go hand in hand. I love capturing the beauty of my surroundings, the most precious moments, and to tell stories through my images. I like shooting nature, tropical ocean scenes, vibrant places, and sunsets the most.
Now you are also one of the top influences in North America, that’s amazing. Please tell us about your travel blog, Bubbly Moments? How often do you post content on the site?
I share my own stories about travels around the world and lifestyle. I cover a few other topics as well such as fashion, dentistry, and orthodontics. I try to create quality content, provide images and information that might be useful, appealing, and relevant to my audience. Like any other business, building a successful website and social media presence take time, patience, and dedication. I keep a thorough schedule and plan both my orthodontic practice and blog calendars at least 4-6 weeks in advance. Over the years I have also built a team around Bubbly Moments and try to delegate roles and tasks efficiently. I post content 3 or 4 times per month on my website.
What part of your blog do you find the most challenging?
I still need to learn to balance job and personal life. I find it hard to switch off especially when I have set a goal or task and I’m working on a project. I wish I am able to completely devote certain hours of the day or week to my personal life.
What do you wish you knew before you started your first business?
Planning, creating content, and designing a website will only consume 15% of your time. Working on the business and running the business takes the rest of your time. Marketing, branding, networking, cash flow management, hiring great people, engagement with your audience are top priorities.
What music do you like?
Basically anything that plays on the radio. Today’s popular music hits. When at home I also play soothing sounds for yoga, relaxation, recreation, and meditation. These frequencies have an empowering and cleansing effect on my subconscious mind.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
The perfect Sunday would be a day free of troubles and full of piece, love, and laughter. Good time spent with my family and my beagle pup, Max. Brunch followed by beach or pool time. An evening walk by the Chicago River and Lake Michigan with an ice cream or an ice coffee. Finishing the day with a thriller book in bed.
What is your favorite healthy food?
I love watermelon, melon, strawberries, and bananas.
And your favorite cheat food?
Molten Chocolate Lava Cake with Raspberry Sauce.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see Bubbly Moments as a much bigger platform with numerous full time employees, taking on new challenges over time, launching a product line or a book. I plan to continue practicing Orthodontics by implementing the most recent digital technologies.
Do you support any charities?
I was an active volunteer for the Bulgarian Red Cross throughout middle and high school. I had assisted with fundraising efforts, worked with underprivileged children, taught community classes such as CPR and First Air. For the last several years, I have been supporting the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago, a community of caring by helping animals, educating people, and inspiring compassion and respect.
