Well I have been a voice actor for 10 years. Some things I enjoy doing are playing videos games, going out for ramen with the boys, and playing DnD (Dungeons and Dragons) which involves some awesome RP (roleplay).

Nerdy, fun, confident
How did you get started acting?
I was watching TV one fine Saturday morning when I was around 8 years old. Not 100% which show I was watching, I’m thinking I was somewhere between pokemon and yu-gi-oh perhaps digimon, but I turned to my mom and told her that I wanted to be a voice on TV. The rest is history a decade long history at this point.
Did your family support your decision to become an actor?
Without my family I would not be an actor and I don’t mean that in just getting me started. This industry is a tough one and sometimes the rejection gets you down. I had my parents always there with some encouraging words and information to get me back on my feet and into the next casting room.
How do you prepare for a role?
It is a matter of research. When given a breakdown you are provided details such as the name of the casting director, director, producers, and writers and it is a good idea to see what they have worked on in the past as a point of reference for how this next project may be. Of course running the lines and being very familiar if not off book is very helpful. In terms of voice over the process is still pretty similar minus the memorization. Sometimes you have to create a character voice depending on the project because in voice over you will play anything from dragon to ant. In the end it comes down to getting into the character’s shoes, their mind, their world and making your own interpretation of what they sound like.
Tell us about you new show “Victor and Valentino”?
Victor and Valentino follows two half-brothers exploring Monte Macabre, a small and mysterious town, where Mesoamerican myths, legends, and folklore come to life and may or may not terrorize the town and it may or may not have been the brothers fault that it is. It falls to Vic and Val to deal with these creatures and beings of legend and sometimes it is their fault that any of those beings are wreaking havoc.
And about Valentino?
Valentino or as he is commonly referred to as Val is the careful and book-smarts of the pair of half-brothers. He has committed Monte Macabre’s city-code and regulations to memory and enjoy taking photos, collecting coins, and to a lesser degree keeping Vic from destroying priceless artifacts and awakening some monster. Yet he needs his brother Vic to take him out of his comfort zone every now and then to have some fun adventures.
What’s was your favorite part of working in this project?
The people I get to meet and work with has easily been the best part of this project. Many of thee jobs I had done in the past involved me recording alone in a room with perhaps the director and a producer present. In Victor and Valentino we record all the characters together as a great big team or family.
What role would you love to play that you haven’t yet?
I’d love to voice a main or recurring side character in an action/adventure or open world RPG (role-playing game) video game.
What advice would you give to those who want to start in this business?
For this and any other business don’t give up. In this business especially rejection is just something you have to deal with. You won’t always be the perfect fit for a role and you just have to keep refining your skills, keep your chin up, and push onwards to the next audition. One must remember that you can always be better and that’s fine no one is perfect and no one will ever really be the best at what they do because you can always improve.
What are the 3 things you can’t live without?
Ramen, Video games, and anime.
What is your favorite healthy food?
A caesar salad is always my go to healthy choice. I mean the dressing itself isn’t all that healthy, but it is still a salad so it counts in my book. Throw some chicken in there if I’m really hungry and I am set.
And your favorite cheat food?
French fries easily. Day or night anytime or anywhere I am always down to enjoy some crispy, lightly-salted, french fries.
How’s your typical day?
I wake up in the morning and either go to school or my agency to record some auditions. Either way is it around 3:00PM when I am done with most tasks and I will go home. I chill out, watch some TV (mainly catching up on shows anime, cartoons, Game of Thrones), then study, do some homework, and head off to sleep. I save the weekends for the lads and lassies when I usually go play DnD at someone’s house, go to the beach, get ramen, hangout at my condo, and play video games to the ungodly hours of the night.
Something people don’t know about you?
This is one I struggle with sometimes I am somewhat of an open book. If I had to say one thing people generally don’t know about me is that I built a video game when I was 8 years old.
How would your best friend describe you?
Crazy, chaotic good, chill, wise (usually really late at night for whatever reason), kind, easy to talk to, and tired (very tired).
Five years from now you will be….
A recurring or main character in a video game?!?!?!?! Honestly though maintaining my career and getting even better hopefully.
What is on your bucket list?
Be a player in a DnD campaign DMed (dungeon master) by Matt Mercer.
What kind of music do you like? And don’t like?
I listen to just about everything. I like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gorillaz, Vance Joy, Eve (Japanese artist), FOALS, Blue Oyster Cult (a true favorite), etc. There is a really really long list cause music keeps me going.
Do you support any charity?
My brother and I started a charity when we were in grade school. It was all born out of us watching a restaurant dumping all their food at closing. With the help of our parents we were able to start picking up food from this restaurant and a few others and started delivering them to different shelters. The charity is called Petersen Charity Club and we have now expanded to “Bags of Caring” which our bags include basic toiletries, a blanket, and flashlight.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is…?
Hanging out with my friends, family, and the ones I love, watching some amazing shows, listening to music, talking about life, playing Super Smash Bros., getting ramen, maybe a one-shot DnD session and ending the day chilling out by a fire pit. Right there is my Perfect Sunday.

It’s a wild and awesome place where people can express themselves through art and conversation. It helps people connect with those who share similar interests and can create some wonderful relationships.
