Pamela Quinzi, is a Celebrity Fashion Designer and entrepreneur born and raised in Rome, Italy. Her work as a Fashion Designer is widely known and respected for its extraordinary level of creativity and craftsmanship. She is particularly known for her keen eye for color, fabric, and detail. Her artful aesthetic coupled with high-end design and production skills have qualified her to work at the highest levels of the international fashion industry.
Pamela has a long history of developing clothing lines for women, as well as accessories and shoes. Working in Milan, Italy alongside the acclaimed designer Rossana Buriassi, designed collaborations with leading luxury lines such as Armani Privé, Dolce & Gabbana and Swarovski. Throughout all her work in the highest levels of the fashion and design worlds, Pamela Quinzi has consistently achieved a unique level of excellence.
After years working in Milan for Made in Italy brands, she moved to New York City in 2009. New York changed her life and gave her the energy and ideas to create her own brand. Pamela Quinzi is the creator and head designer of the Kilame Collection. This line of high-end luxury footwear, clothes and accessories ‘One of a Kind’ for women is a major presence at the top end of the market. Hi Pamela, please tell us a little about you?
Hi my name is Pamela Quinzi, aka The Cinderella of New York. I am a Celebrity Fashion designer, entrepreneur, author and a dreamer!

What’s your background?
I am from Rome, Italy.
When did you start in the business?
I opened my Kilame brand in 2012 in New York City.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
Mine! The Cinderella of New York, published in 2019, available on Amazon. The story of how a pair of shoes changed me life.
Now tell us about your experience as a fashion designer?
Since I was young I always loved fashion and I was spending hours designing dresses and shoes. At 14 years old I started to study as a Fashion Designer in a Fashion School in Rome, Italy and then after 5 years with my degree I moved to Milan and studied at the Istituto Marangoni, the most prestigious Fashion University in Europe and I graduated as a Fashion Designer. After I completed my studies I started my journey in the Fashion world in Italy. I worked for brands such: Fiorucci, Exte’, Swarovski, Armani, Dolce e Gabbana.
Tell us about your brand Kilame?
Kilame is the idea of a New Modern Princess travelling the world wearing my creations. The image of an independent, strong woman proud to show who she is and what she likes with fashion, glam and unique outfits. Hand-made creations with a Pop touch mixed with a retro and baroque allure, colors, precious materials, stones, crystals, silk, flowers, inspired by the Italian fashion traditions of Haute Couture and the energy and new ideas that New York City and Hollywood brought into my new life.
What are the challenges you face as a designer?
I like to create, is my life, I will always be a Fashion Designer. During all these years I always looked for new inspirations, from art, music, movies and everything I like. Traveling helped me to be more creative and develop new ideas all the time. Is challenging to create something new, to do Fashion Shows, promote yourself and your brand in a world with so much competition, but I do like the challenge, motivates me.

What inspired your latest collection?
The Collection I showed for NYFW 2020 was inspired by New York City, I celebrate my 10 years anniversary moving from Italy to New York and like the first year I dedicated my last collection to the Big Apple.
Favorite look from your collection and why?
My mini sequins dresses with crystals shoes, a must! I loved the colors and the materials I used.
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
I like when my clients tell me ‘Pamela, with your shoes I feel like Cinderella’ that makes me so happy to see my clients happy. I don’t like If they can’t find a pair of shoes good for theme, but I have to say this rarely happens with me!
How is your work with all this lockdown time?
I am in Spain right now, I was about to go to Ibiza to do Fashion Shows and events all summer long but I couldn’t go due to the pandemic. I am near the city of Alicante in the south coast of Spain, working during the quarantine on new Fashion ideas and embroideries for my shoes, I have a lot of time being home all day. I hope this moment will pass soon, the news are devastating and sad, I pray everyday for my family in Italy and all my friends all over the world. Let’s stay positive.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
Boss babe, boss babe! Because I really like to be the Ceo and owner of my company and make decisions, my life changed when I opened my brand.
Now tell us about your book “The Cinderella of New York?”
My book ‘The Cinderella of New York’ is my story, the story of a girl with a dream. The mission of my book is to inspire others to follow their dreams no matter what. Life wasn’t easy for me and I worked hard to make my dreams come true but if we believe we can do everything we want in life.
How would you compare your brand to other global brands?
Kilame brand is One of a Kind, all my styles on clothes, shoes and accessories are unique. My Collection is small, I don’t have a big production, I like to be exclusive.
What comes to mind when you think of the next collection?
Colors, flowers, life!
What is the key to your success?
Determination.
How often do you create new collections?
Every month I create new styles, my collection has no really season, my styles are for special occasions or evening, cocktails, events.
What do you think is the secret to have a successful Instagram account?
Post good quality content, nice photos, and interact with others.
Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why?
Bella and Gigi Hadid, for the new ones and Naomi Campbell forever. My favourite designer is Tom Ford, it will always be. I love him.
What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion is life, is everything for my world. Crete keeps me alive.
How would you explain your fashion style?
Unique.
What projects are you currently working on?
I am working on creating new Kilame pieces and also organizing Fashion Shows in Europe and NYFW in September, always if it will be possible considering what is going on right now.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Eating a big pizza or a plate of pasta!
What is next for Pamela Quinzi in 2020?
I am currently working on translating my book in Spanish and introduce my Collection in Spain and South America.
Something people don’t know about you?
I won big sports competitions in gymnastic in Rome, Italy when I was young.
Who was your role model as a child?
My mother. She still is.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Lady Gaga, I would love to meet her, she inspired me so much and also she is Italian!
What is your favorite healthy food?
Ginger, Zucchini.
And your favorite cheat food?
French Fries!
Which project is still on your bucket list?
So many, my list never ends…but, yes, a documentary about my life.
