Hi Amelie, please tell us a little about you?
Hey there, my name is Amelie Anstett, I am 16 years old, and I am a teenage girl striving to make my dreams a reality. I am a professional dancer and actor, and just someone who is super passionate about what I do and about making everyone around me happy. I hope to bring out positivity in everyone, use my platform to benefit others, find new ways to connect, etc.; that’s just a little bit about me. 🙂
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Outgoing, original, hardworking.
Who is your role model?
Oooo, this is a fun question. I have so many role models in my life; however, in the industry, my role models are Reese Witherspoon and Zendya for sure. I think what I admire so much about these two individuals isn’t even their insane amount of talent but their drive and their humble hearts that they show so passionately. They both inspire me to be better daily.
How did you get started into acting?
My whole career started with dance. Being able to dance is a feeling I cherish every day. I began to dance at the age of seven when there were no gymnastics/acrobatic studios in my town. However, there was a dance studio, so I started to take dance classes. At first, it was just one or two classes, but soon, teachers called my mom and invited me to participate in their other classes. Sometimes things work in funny ways. Eventually, I was dancing every day except Sundays, for over five hours a day, and as I got older and started competing, it became a lot more hours of training.
I started acting way later in my career, I have always enjoyed theater and playing characters/entertaining people, but never fully pursued acting until now, and here we are.
How has this changed your life?
Being in this industry, I feel that I have matured so much faster than an average kid/teen, which has been so cool and very interesting. The number of life lessons I have learned has been plenty, and I am so thankful for every one of them. I really value how my life has changed because I am provided with so many new ways to help make an impact on other people and their lives/journeys.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
To be completely honest with you, there really isn’t a best and worst to being an actress for me because even the not so good things are learning experiences. I think the best part about being an actress is that we are given such amazing opportunities to become these completely different humans and portray individuals with completely different lives. This is something that I really cherish because it is so fun tapping into these other personas. When it comes to the parts of being an actress that are not as fun, it would probably be the fact that in auditions and going for new jobs, there are A LOT of no’s which can sometimes be really hard and disheartening, but you just must keep your head high, and keep pushing for your dreams. 🙂
Tell us about your work in BRAT TV’s “Chicken Girls?”
“Chicken Girls” season six is a crazy one (in a good way). (laughs) It has so many new elements and twists compared to other seasons. It also addresses a lot of different issues and situations that many teens and young kids might be going through as well. Like eating disorders, getting involved with people that are bad influences, and situations that we all go through or will at some point in our lives. Addressing right from wrong, lying to your parents, or just the normal romantic feelings and relationships teens go through. It is an excellent avenue for our generation to know that they are not alone, especially right now, when so much is changing for us and our world. It is very important for our generation and people, in general, to know they are not alone. When fans see these characters that they adore go through all of these trials and tribulations, it helps the fans relate better to our characters and feel connected to the characters.
And about your role as “Sadie?”
Sadie is TK (Hayden Summerall’s) girlfriend in the show, and man, does she have a personality on her. She comes from Texas, so she is a cowgirl. Getting to play her is so much fun. She is a country girly girl that is very confident/ sassy, and she is not afraid to express her feelings whatsoever.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I love getting to tap into any type of role or character because it is enjoyable to test your abilities, etc. Personally, my favorite kind of roles that I would love to play is more dramatic/drama type roles like in Grey’s Anatomy, for example. I feel like this would be so much fun and such a cool challenge.
What other projects have you been part of?
At only 16 years old, I am so grateful to have been given so many amazing opportunities to be a part of many fun projects, etc. Alongside playing “Sadie” on Chicken Girls, I am also a Justin Bieber Purpose tour Dancer, The face of Latin Sensation Sebastien Yatra’s Totto Brand, and a bunch more. 🙂 I am working on so many new projects right now and can’t wait until I can announce them.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
There are so many things that make me feel so humbled being in this line of work; however, I think the most rewarding thing is waking up and seeing my dm’s/comments that say I have impacted someone’s life. Seeing that I can help people be happy or find themselves without even fully knowing them is something I cherish every day. Having my platform, I want to use it to do just that, make people happy and let them know that I support them just as much as they support me.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Frozen grapes, asparagus, and so much more. Eating healthy makes me so happy.
And your favorite cheat food?
Ice cream always, hehe.
How would you explain your fashion style?
All over the place, lol, my style is very different depending on the day or event, but I love dressing up and sticking with the trends, and putting my own Amelie twist to things.
How would your best friend describe you?
Super outgoing, crazy in a funny way, and I enjoy being there for everyone; however, I can help.
What’s next for Amelie Anstett in the last months of 2020?
I have several projects in the works and was actually in the middle of working on one back in March before the production had to halt because of the virus. I would love to say more about the projects, but as you know, we usually aren’t allowed to say too much about them until closer to their release. But I am so excited for everyone to see everything that is coming up. I am also working hard to release tons of new Instagram reels content as one of their creators.
My fans have been asking to see some of this content from me, and I am excited to begin sharing. I’ve also had several brands approach me to start working on some possible merch, so you might want to keep your eyes out for that!
What is your definition of happiness?
In every situation, you can find the positive; you are here alive, now make your purpose happen.
How is a normal day in your life?
A normal day in my life is super crazy, lol. Let’s say it’s Monday; I usually wake up, do my work email, school, zoom rehearsals for filming, then I go to dance for hours. And yeah, it honestly just depends on the day because being in this industry, I can guarantee that every day is so different from the other. But it’s a ride that I never want to get off of. 🙂
What is your idea of a perfect Sunday?
OOOOoo this is such fun. For me, a perfect Sunday would be waking up at 8ish, going to get breakfast on the water, then picking up my friends for a fun little boating adventure. Then just going to exercise/dance for a little, and lastly, just chill and get in some nice relaxation/connect with nature. I always enjoy living life to the fullest!
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Reese Witherspoon, for sure. She is such an inspiration to me and my career. I would love to get insight and advice from her. She has always kept her integrity. I admire her tremendously and everything she has achieved. I love that she thrived as an actress. She also made sure to get her education and degree and continue to grow her career into production and writing while balancing motherhood and staying beautiful and fit. She is a very intelligent woman, and I enjoy her joyous and direct leadership style.
Best advice ever given?
Everything happens for a reason; sometimes the bad is needed to make the good, even if it doesn’t make sense at first.
Do you support any charity?
I support so many charities because I enjoy giving back and helping anyone I can. The main charity I support and love helping is Elev8hope in my local town, run by the amazing, strong, inspiring woman Rina Shpiruk. Elev8hope is a non-profit organization that focuses on bettering the community and helping anyone in need, no matter the circumstances. They truly work miracles, and I am so grateful I get to support and uplift our community.
Name three things you can’t live without?
Family, my career, and food, hahaha.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I have many BIG career goals, and I am so thankful to be given the opportunities and have such a fantastic support system. I am a big believer in “everything happens for a reason,” so I continue to follow my path and work incredibly hard to make my dreams come true. One of my big goals is to use my platform to spread positivity and lift people up. I love interacting with my fans and those who support me because I want them to know I support them just the same. I think that this generation is different from the rest, and I would love to use my motto, “Be Original,” to share that it is amazing to be who you truly are.
Favorite song? Why?
Ooo, this is so hard. To be honest, I don’t have a favorite song. I listen to so many branches/styles of music as a dancer, and it honestly just depends on my mood or vibe hehe.
What music do you like?
Literally, all types of music. My family is huge on listening to all types, and we all dance and sing in the kitchen; it’s a lot of fun.
What do you think of Social Media?
I love social media because it is such an amazing way to connect with others and share your passion and thoughts with the world!! I think what is really cool about social media is that it gives everyone a chance to put themselves out there and see what happens.
