Out now via Liquid State, Kick and Scream marks Crazy Donkey’s inaugural release on the flourishing Asian imprint, which launched in 2018 as a joint venture between Sony Music and Tencent Music Entertainment.

Hi Crazy Donkey, please tell us a little about yourself?
Hello everyone! I’m Crazy Donkey, Jin Dazhi. I’m 16 years old, a music producer from China. I’m currently still in high school, welcome to have a listen to my songs
We’re sure you have been asked this many times but how did you get in the industry?
When I was in primary school, our English teacher introduced some Western EDM songs to us. I was touched and got really into it, so I started to listen to EDM. I watched the documentary about DJ Snake, and his story encouraged me a lot. It inspired me to start producing my EDM sounds.

My artist name is Crazy Donkey, so I produced this song with Donkey’s scream samples

How do you like to chill out when you’re not making music?
I like to walk by the river to enjoy the view, either alone to find peace or hanging out with friends.
What’s your dream club to perform in?
Hï Ibiza
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
I think it’s fun and fulfilling to do something new and interesting to make others happy. But I don’t like to be observant of conventional standards.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Live a life you will remember.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
My grandfather, because when I grew up, has always been very kind to me, thinking of me in everything he does. He died because of lung cancer last summer. It’s my great regret that I didn’t see him for the last time as I was at military training at school.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
I want a stable life where I can do anything I like, live happily and positively with people I like.

What do you think of Social Media?
I think there are pros and cons. It provides a channel for people to show themselves and get attention and courage. However, haters can also harm people seriously, and they could get lost or even get mental illness. There is also cyber violence so we all have to be diligent when browsing social media.
