Dakota plans to combine his advocacy efforts with his love for music and is set to release an EP later this year. He is an environmentalist and heavily supports anti-bullying.

Hi Dakota, please tell us a little about you?
Hey! My name is Dakota Lotus, I am 15 years old, and I’m an Actor and Musician! I started musical theater at 5 and had the amazing opportunity to study for 8 years with Janet Adderley.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Creative, goofy, and kind.
Who was your role model as a child?
My role models have always been Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson since I was a child!
How did you get started into acting?
I started doing musical theater when I was five years old and ever since then I’ve loved acting and pursued it as a career!
How has this changed your life?
The minute I discovered acting it changed my life because I discovered my true passion!
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
For me, there is no bad part of being an actor! I love that every day I get to go to work and perfect my craft! I also love being able to play a variety of different characters!
Tell us about your work in popular Disney’s “Coop and Cami Ask the World?”
I play Cooper on Coop & Cami which is about two kids who own a live stream where they ask would you rather questions to their fans and get feedback on them!
How do you prepare for a role?
To prepare for a role I make sure that I have studied the material, read the description of the character to get a feel for what the character is like, and practice my reactions while the other characters are talking!
What other projects you have been part of?
I am about to release the music video to my original song! This song is called “All in for Love” and it’s about spreading awareness to take care of our earth and also being more kind and compassionate to each other as humans!
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I would love to play a young Leonardo DiCaprio because he is one of my biggest inspirations! I would also love to be in a drama film!
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding part of acting is being able to follow my passion and pursue what I love doing!
How would your best friend describe you?
My best friend describes me as outgoing, talented, fearless, full of joy, and funny!
What’s next for Dakota Lotus in 2020?
Some things that are next for me are a lot of music and hopefully some acting opportunities!
What is your own definition of happiness?
My definition of happiness is surrounding myself with people that love and support me and giving back to others! Also doing what you love and loving what you do!
What would be a deal breaker on a first date?
A deal-breaker on the first date for me would be some who is on their phone instead of making a real connection! Whenever I’m hanging out with my friends I always try to stay away from my phone and be as present as possible!
How is a normal day in your life?
A normal day in my life besides working is filled with school, music, FaceTime with friends when I can’t see them in person, cooking and dance battle with my mom!
What is your idea of a perfect Sunday?
A perfect Sunday for me would be playing music, spending time in nature, and surfing gnarly waves!
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would meet Elvis Presley because he is one of my biggest inspirations and I could probably learn a lot from him!
What is your favorite healthy food?
I am vegan so I love making salads and soups!
And your favorite cheat food?
I love spicy chips!
Best advice ever given?
The best advice I have ever been given is that this business can be pretty harsh and to keep your heart kind and don’t give up no matter what!
Do you support any charity?
I love supporting charities and being a part of giving back to people who need it! Here are a few charities that I support: Charity Water, St. Jude Children’s hospital, and City Of Hope Children’s hospital!
Name 3 things you can’t live without?
I can’t live without my guitar, my mom, and my friends!
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I see a lot of music and hopefully lots of opportunities for acting!
Favorite song? Why?
Blame it on the Boogie by the Jacksons because it always puts me in the best mood and it’s very groovy!
What music do you like?
I love all types of music! I couldn’t choose just one!
What do you think of Social Media?
I think that social media is a great way to make connections with people in different parts of the world! I also don’t think you should spend a lot of time on social media because it can be very distracting from the real world!
