Hi Kimberly, please tell us a little about you?
I am a country music artist. I’m also a mom of four and happily married to the most amazing man. I was born and raised in Alberta, Canada so I am definitely a proud Canadian. I grew up on a farm and my parents are still on that farm today as my dad still continues to farm.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Kind, Optimistic, Driven
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
I’d have to say my sweet grandmother Mary, who isn’t with us anymore. My grandmother was my biggest fan. She always believed in me even when I didn’t. My grandma was so kind to everyone, always going out of her way for others and she taught me to go after my dreams and to never give up.
How did you get started in the business?
Growing up on a farm doesn’t allow a lot of opportunities for you. At eighteen I left Canada and moved to Los Angeles. I dabbled in acting and singing while here. I ended up getting married at 22 and then from 23-30 I had all four of my kids. It was at 30 that I decided to go back to what I love which was singing. I started taking piano lessons at 30 and started meeting more people in the music business. I was introduced to different producers and started recording. I have been working hard ever since.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Country, Powerful, Homegrown
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
My influences were Elvis Presley, Paul Anka, Elton John, Faith Hill, Reba, Stevie Nicks. I love how you can tell a story and to me that’s what songwriting is all about. Music has always been there to help me in good times and bad. I want to do for others what music has done for me. Inspire and help.
Do you ever get nervous?
Absolutely but I think it’s healthy to still get nervous
What is your next goal as a musician?
Record this upcoming EP and then put it out sometime in 2020. Hopefully I’ll be able to get on the road a little next year to start promoting the new music.
Now tell us about the success of your single “Slow Dancin’ In The Dark?”
I feel very blessed that this single has been doing really well on streaming sites like Spotify. As an independent artist you are always hoping that you can get traction with your songs and hope they resonate with the audience. I definitely think “Slow Dancin’ In the Dark” does.

How does it feel to be nominated for the 10th Annual Hollywood Music in Media Awards?
Oh my gosh it feels amazing. This is a tough business and there are times where you feel discouraged. I definitely needed a little gift like this to remind me that I am doing great and to keep going. I am very thankful.
What’s next for you in 2019/2020?
I am releasing a single in January and then I will be releasing my EP later that year.
Name one your strengths?
I am very loyal.
What is your own definition of happiness?
I’d have to say when I’m in a state of peace. When I’m at peace I don’t worry and I am just happy.
Any loves other than music?
I love to write for my blog. I write a lot for my blog which is a lot about empowering females and sharing my life experiences. You never know who you can help when they read your story or an experience you’ve had. I also love to take naps!
Any exiting news you want to share with us?
In November attended The Hollywood Music and Media Awards. I was nominated in the country genre for my song “Slow Dancin’ In The Dark”. I am over the moon excited about that. I will be heading to Nashville in December to record my EP. Then in January I am releasing a single. Lots of good things are happening and I am so thankful for that.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
I love to go to church on Sunday and then spend the rest of the day vegging out with my family. I love being with my husband and kids. Having a family dinner together is the best. We live in a hectic world so I treasure the time we get together.
What is your favorite healthy food?
A Clean Healthy Green smoothie.
And your favorite cheat food?
Anything chocolate.
Who is your biggest beauty inspiration?
Carrie Underwood is an inspiration to me, she’s beautiful inside and out.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Elvis Presley because I grew up listening to him. My mom was obsessed with Elvis. I would have to say that he’s a big part of why I love music so much and why I went down the music path.
Do you support any charities?
I am very philanthropic and love to support different charities. Right now I am involved with “Alliance Of Moms” whose mission is to break the intergenerational cycle of foster care. I love what they are doing to help break that cycle. Always feels good to see a positive change.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I’m loving Alice & Olivia as well as Misa.
What do you think of Social Media?
I have a love/hate relationship with social media. I love it because it is crucial in building a brand and really trying to get yourself out to an audience who may never find you. That being said I am so grateful for it. Then there is the reality that isn’t always there. I never want to portray that my life is perfect or I don’t deal with the everyday issues that we all deal with like feeling overwhelmed, or discouraged etc. It can be a lot to come up with new content to post or when you’re having a rough day or week to post something. I can be very critical of myself and compare myself to others. That’s the hard part of social media .
