Hi Savannah, please tell us a little about you?
I’m a 19-year-old recording artist and songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee! I’ve lived in Nashville for two years now after having the opportunity to sign with CAA. I love sharing my music with the #safannah army and keeping my followers updated on my life through social media. I also love being on stage!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Driven, Creative, Confident.
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
Definitely my mom and my younger sister, Sierra! When I had the opportunity to move to Nashville after being signed to CAA, my mom and sister picked up everything and moved with me from South Florida. We’ve lived here for two years now and our life has completely changed! I am so lucky to have them here supporting me.
How did you get started in the business?
I’ve always loved to sing and perform, but I started taking it more seriously when I turned 10. I auditioned to sing the anthem for The Miami Marlins and ended up being booked by them for the season! I began singing the anthem for other major sports teams in South Florida and fell in love with being on stage! After learning to write my own music and a few trips to Nashville, my career took off. I haven’t looked back since!
Did you go to music school?
I actually did online high school because my travel schedule was getting super crazy with traveling and touring, but I am not taking online classes at Belmont in Nashville! I loved doing online school because I was able to graduate super early.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I’ve always loved to sing, but I think that I was able to take my talent to the next level when I first learned how to write music. I took my first songwriting lesson during a trip to Nashville when I was 10, and it opened my eyes to a new world of self-expression and artistry. Eventually, I learned how to play the guitar and was able to write on my own! Now, releasing my music is one of my favorite parts of what I do.
Do you ever get nervous?
I don’t really anymore! Practice is a really big thing that makes me feel confident on stage. I also really LOVE performing, so it’s a happy place for me to be able to interact with the audience and share my music!
What is your next goal as a musician?
I’m so excited to tour the US summer with Cash and Maverick and continue to release new music!
Now tell us about your hit single “If You Can?”
I wrote “If You Can” on a recent trip to LA. It talks about a whirlwind relationship and falling in love quickly! It’s the first song of mine that expresses the pop side of my writing a little more deeply. Since its release, the response from the #Safannah army has been absolutely incredible. I am so glad that my supporters love the song and am so thankful for all of the thousands of steams and shares!
What’s the feeling of the huge success of the single on Radio Disney?
That was a huge day for me. It’s been a dream of mine to be a part of the radio Disney family for so long and I feel so blessed to have that opportunity now. I definitely cried happy tears leaving the RD office for the first time!
Do you have a tour coming up or where we can see you performing?
I am touring the US this summer with influencers and recording artists Cash and Maverick! I can’t wait to meet so many #safannahs in person! Tour dates are available on my website and Instagram.
What we can expect of Savannah Maddison in 2020?
Lots of new music! I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on during the quarantine.
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
Juice by Lizzo is my car jam, but my sister and I love listening to Ariana Grande on long road trips too! I also love Kelsea Ballerini and Taylor Swift.
Name one your strengths?
I’m a super confident person. I think that confidence is a major key to success, so I always encourage my supporters to believe in themselves and their talents. It can take you so far!
Any loves other than music?
Yes! I grew up in South Florida, so I love the ocean and spending time on the water. I got scuba certified at a young age, so I love diving when I get the chance!
How’s a typical day in your life?
On any given day, I can probably be found writing music or making content for my social media platforms!
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Church with my family and getting cozy with a good book!
What is your favorite healthy food?
Fruit! I love to snack on fruit smoothies, strawberries, and bananas with peanut butters.
And your favorite cheat food?
Candy and donuts. All day!
What would be a deal breaker on a first date?
My date being rude to a server! I actually had this happen once and the date ended super quickly. Respect and manners are super important to me!
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
It’s definitely a tie between Michelle Obama, Taylor Swift, and Ellen. Could I have coffee with all of them?
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully selling out Madison Square Garden! I would love to be able to tour the world and share my music on even more stages.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Trendy, Tonal, Basics with Bold Accessories, Contemporary! I love visiting locally owned boutiques in my hometown and picking up fun new pieces.
What do you think of Social Media?
I love social media! I’ve found that it’s a great way to interact with my followers and keep them updated on my life. Having a big social media following is definitely a big responsibility, so I work really hard to keep all of my platforms positive. I love reading through my comments and messages from safannahs!
