Describe yourself in 3 words?
Funny, smart, confident.
When did you start dancing?
I started dancing 4 years ago, when I was 7 years old.
Did you take dancing classes?
Yes, I started with just rec classes and worked myself up to the competitive team.
How’s a typical day in your life?
I’m in school from 8am until 3:30pm, then I go to dance from 4 until sometimes 9:30pm.
What part of your job do you find the most challenging?
I think it’s challenging to balance my homework with dance and also find time for friends.
What do you love most about dancing?
I love how I feel when I’m on stage. I love performing.
What type of dance do you like best?
Jazz used to be my favorite but I feel like I can tell a story more with contemporary.
Tell us about your work on “You’re the Worst,” and on DJ Snake video?
I booked You’re The Worst when I was 9 and it was my first television job. I was a featured extra because of my dancer body. The DJ Snake video was an incredible experience because usually you are doing hip hop in music videos but I was able to dance ballet on pointe in this video so it’s very special to me.
What do you think about before you perform?
I actually try to clear my head and not think about anything so I can just be free to move.
How do you recover from all the dancing and rehearsals?
I actually have a trainer who helps with muscle recovery and keeping me healthy.
What tips can you give to girls who want to get into dancing?
I say go for it! You are never too old to start and the industry needs ALL types of dancers!
What other projects you have been part of?
I just danced on Fresh Off The Boat and I also danced in a Kesha video with my twin sister, Kameron.
Do you have a favorite actress or actor that inspires you?
I feel inspired by many but I’d have to say Selena Gomez because I think she has really been able to step away when she needs to and has the ability to stay focused.
Who is your role model?
My role model is my Mom. She is very dedicated to her kids and we wouldn’t be where we are without her.
Name one your strengths?
Confidence. I get compared daily to my twin sister and I think it takes a lot of confidence to just keep working hard and not listen to the noise.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Happiness to me is family – always.
Which project is still on your bucket list?
Dancing for Taylor Swift.
What’s next for Katie Couch in 2019/2020?
We actually have a really great project in the works and I’m very excited to be able to share it with everyone.
Something people don’t know about you?
That I am exactly one minute older than my twin sister, Kameron.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Definitely it would be in Hawaii, on the beach with my family.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Any and all fruits.
And your favorite cheat food?
Ice cream, for sure.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Pool days at my house with Jordan Fisher.
What do you like to watch on Tv?
I love watching old episodes of Friends.
Do you support any charities?
Yes, we are actually hosting a toy drive next week for Toys for Tots so we can gather as many toys as possible for Christmas!
What do you think of Social Media?
I think it’s great for communicating but I could do without the haters.
