Hi Jorge, please tell us a little about you?
Hi so grateful for the opportunity!
I’m from Medellin, Colombia. I’m a graphic designer originally. I moved from Colombia to Miami 22 years ago. I’m 47 years old. I have a beautiful wife and to amazing children’s (boy and girl) I love music, movies and of course photography.

When did you start in the business?
I was a graphic designer. When I started working as editorial designer I fall in love with photography and I had my first opportunity working in a magazine.

Can you tell me how you ended up becoming a fashion photographer?
I remember when I was in college going to all the runways from the fashion designer students always amazed by the creativity and the way they transformed the models I knew someday I will have to go the same path. So after years of doing photography I started learning from amazing stylist I had the opportunity to share the set and I found love in creating concepts to make it real and to transmit the way I feel every clothing.
What was the first camera that you got? And what’s your current equipment?
It was at college in my photography class. It was a Pentax K1000 35mm film.
My current camera is a canon R5.
Do you have an all time favorite camera/lens combination?
I just got the R5 and it’s been amazing working with it and my favorite lens is the canon 70-200mm version III
What do you love most about creating and being a fashion photographer? And what not?
I love when I find a model who inspire me to create a story. I love the brands and the endless possibilities you have to crate beautiful photos.
I don’t like the ego from other colleges and artist from our industry.
Do you have any artists that inspired you?
There is a photographer I like his name is Greg Swales.
What do you think is the secret to have a successful fashion photography career?
A good fashion photographer doesn’t just take pictures: They are highly knowledgeable about the brand and people they work with. When doing commercial work, fashion photographers know the fashion house’s codes. When shooting fashion editorial, they know both the style and styling conventions of the publication.
Who was your role model as a child?
My father the most amazing person in the whole world.
How would your best friend describe you?
Loyal
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
Work hard and live your dream
What is your favorite healthy food?
Lettuce wraps
And your favorite cheat food?
Whole Fried fish
What is your own definition of happiness?
My family and to be grateful with everything your have
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
My dad’s father. Cause my father is the most amazing person in the world and when he talk about my grand father always you can see he wanna cry and always tells me he was an incredible human being.
Best advice ever given?
Wherever you find yourself at work or in your personal life, do the very best you can do.
Favorite song? Why?
Nothing but a good time. Gives me so much energy and happiness and it is a song from my favorite band Poison
What do you think of Social Media?
Social media right now is everything, we interact in a way we never did before, and we can learn and communicate with others. What we do can be seen on a bigger scale and we have access to a lot of information which helps us a lot to develop better. Even with this platform, we have the opportunity to get hired without needing an agent anymore
