Hi girls, please tell us a little about you?
Raena: Hi everyone, we’re Triple Charm! We are three sisters who sing, dance, create content, and make music! We just released our latest single “Don’t Need A Reason” which is a bilingual song all about the power of dance!
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Gabriella: If I could describe us in only 3 words I would say positive, fierce and fun!
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
Amalia: Music has always been a big part of our lives. We each started dancing at the age of 2 and have grown up doing competitive dance. Our first time performing together as a trio, was actually when I was 6, Raena was 5 and Gabriella was only 2! Also around 6, was when I started singing and eventually after a few years of going to my singing competitions and listening to me do vocal warm ups in the car, the girls decided to join in on the fun! Then in 2019, we officially formed Triple Charm!
How has this changed your life?
Raena: Ever since we started Triple Charm our goal has always been to spread positivity! For a while we thought the only way to do this was through our music but when we started creating content it opened us up to a whole new world. Now everyday we get to interact with our fans, and put a smile on their face. We’ve been able to grow an audience through social media which has led to so many amazing opportunities, and given us a big platform to share our music!
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Amalia: The best way to describe our sound would be pop, upbeat, and danceable.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
Gabriella: Dance is what influenced us to make music. Music is a major element of dance and growing up in the dance studio was how we were first introduced to music and really fell in love with it. We decided to form Triple Charm and start making music, with the purpose of spreading a positive message. With each song we write we always make it danceable and focus on the message we want to share with our audience.
Do you play any instrument?
Gabriella: We all three play the piano and I am currently learning how to play the guitar!
Do you ever get nervous?
Raena: We’ve grown up our whole lives on stage, so we never really get nervous when performing. Performing is our favorite thing to do, so if anything, we are just so excited and itching to get out on stage!
Tell us about your new singles “Summer Again,” and the bilingual single “Don’t Need a Reason?”
Amalia: “Summer Again” and “Don’t Need a Reason” are our two latest singles! We released “Summer Again” over the summer, and it’s a nostalgic sort of 90s vibe, all about summer. We like to say it’s essentially the feeling of summer bottled up into a song. “Don’t Need a Reason,” is our bilingual single about the power of dance. We are 50% Puerto Rican, and we wanted to write a song to pay homage to our Hispanic culture.
What’s the story behind the songs?
Raena: We wrote “Summer Again” right at the end of the school year when we were just itching to go on summer break. We wanted to capture the feeling of summer that we had been so excited for. “Don’t Need a Reason” was inspired by the days we would spend at our Abuela’s house dancing to latin music and watching telenovelas. Dance is a major part of our lives and also a big part of Hispanic culture, so we thought this connection point between our roots and our passion was the perfect thing to write about.
Now tell us about the feeling to be named as the Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels this month? Big congrats!
Amalia: Being named a Top 50 Most Viewed Youtube Channel from the U.S. this month was so incredible! It was totally unexpected and looking at the list of so many amazing Youtubers like Mr. Beast alongside us was so cool! Definitely an unforgettable moment and something we are so proud of!
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Raena: The most rewarding part of what we do is being able to make an impact in people’s lives. We get comments all the time, from people who say that we helped them through a tough time, or even just put a smile on their face! Those people and the impact we’re able to have, is why we do what we do.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
Gabriella: “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstien
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
Raena: One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that practice and consistency pays off. At the moment it may not seem like you’ve made any progress, and you’re only taking small steps. But the little things start to add up, and one day you’ll look back and see how far you’ve come. So work hard and don’t give up!
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Amalia: The biggest advice I would give to my younger self is to know that everything happens for a reason! Ever since I was little, my dream has always been to be a performer. At one point I made it to the final callbacks of a Broadway show, but didn’t get the role. This really bummed me out at the time, but looking back on it, I know that this all happened for a reason. If I would’ve gotten the role I probably wouldn’t be living out my dream right now with my sisters by my side.
How would your best friend describe you?
Raena: My best friend would probably describe me as loyal, passionate, and honest
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
Amalia: If I was a book, the title would be “Born Ready.” I have been performing my whole life, literally before I could even walk or talk. Performing is always what I felt like I was meant to do, and like I was born ready to be on stage.
What’s next for Triple Charm in the last months of 2022 and for 2023?
Gabriella: For the rest of the year we are focused on writing new music and creating content! As far as next year goes, we are going to keep releasing music and would love to go on tour!
As a popular artist and influencers you guys are followed by so many people. How do you feel about that pressure of doing always the right thing, and encourage people to follow their dreams?
Amalia: When you have a platform, it comes with a lot of responsibility. You have the ability to impact people in ways that are truly amazing. For us, there has never been pressure to do the right thing, because that is just something we believe is our responsibility as an artist. Spreading positivity and joy is something the world needs more of, and we are happy we get the chance to do it. We are living out our dream right now, so we always encourage our audience to go after what they believe in, because hard work really does pay off!
Now talking about Instagram & TikTok, can you share some tips for keeping your account interesting?
Amalia: This is a great question! We like to view our social media account almost like our own variety show. We create all types of content from singing, to dancing, acting skits, comedy videos, and challenges. I think incorporating all these different types of videos, while still making it cohesive to your brand and identity, is a fun way to keep your account interesting, for your audience, but also for you, while you’re creating content.
When you started your Social Media accounts, did you expect such a success?
Raena: When we started social media we weren’t exactly sure what to expect. We set goals for ourselves and planned to keep going until we accomplished them, however long it took. What we didn’t expect is how quickly our account would grow, and how rapidly we would be able to build our audience. It’s crazy to wrap our heads around the fact that only 2 years ago, we started making content with under 10k followers, and now we reach over 4 million people on a daily basis!
What is your favorite healthy food?
Raena: There’s this one salmon beet salad that really hits the spot
And your favorite cheat food?
Gabriella: I don’t really consider this a “cheat food” because I eat them all the time but french fries!
How would you explain your fashion style?
Gabriella: Triple Charm wouldn’t be complete without a coordinating outfit! We love to use fun and poppin colors, while still keeping it cool. A coordinating look really pulls together a video and makes us look and feel even more in sync!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Raena: To me, happiness is being able to find inner peace in every moment.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Gabriella: I would love to meet Taylor Swift and hear all about her tips and tricks for songwriting!
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Amalia: I would love to go to Italy and of course bring my sisters along with me!
Best advice ever given?
Gabriella: The best advice I’ve ever been given is to stay true to yourself because that’s what makes you special.
Do you support any charity?
Amalia: There are so many amazing charities and organizations that we would love to work with one day! Female empowerment is so important to us, and we haven’t had the chance yet but we would love to work with organizations like the Girls Opportunity Alliance!
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Gabriella: We have so many goals we have set for ourselves and look forward to accomplishing one day! 2 major things we hope to do in the next 5 years are, have our own TV show, and tour around the world!
Favorite song? Why?
Raena: My favorite song is definitely “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas. There’s just something about it, every time I hear it, I get so nostalgic.
What do you think of Social Media?
Amalia: Social Media is such an amazing tool and great way to reach new people. For us, it’s the reason we’ve been able to grow our audience! Obviously there can be negativity online, so it’s important to take care of your mental health, and never get too caught up in it. But there’s so many advantages to using it as an artist or musician, it’s incredible what social media can do!
Where can we follow you?
Gabriella: You can follow us on Instagram @itstriplecharm, YouTube @Triple Charm, and TikTok @triplecharmofficial 🙂 Remember you’re amazing!
