Hi Rayray, please tell us a little about you?
I’m a 19 year old rapper from Toronto, Canada that has a passion for making music. Music has been in my bloodline for over 3 generations which led to me writing my first bar.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Ambitious, dedicated, And hungry.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
I got into the industry from witnessing and being around family members going on tour, doing performances and being in the studio recording.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Melodic, inspiring, and relatable.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
Someone that influenced me was 50 Cent. I chose to make music because it’s the outlet I use to express my emotions and also because I go through a lot of experiences many people can relate to.
Tell us about your new single “Holy Moly?”
“Holy Moly” is one of my favourites! This single is catered to all types of audiences. It’s full of melody and punch lines to keep listeners engaged throughout the whole song.
What’s the story behind this song?
The story behind this song is the build up of who I am and my character.
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
What’s fun and rewarding about what I do is using my creativity to express myself, knowing other people feel good vibing to my music. I don’t find anything that’s not fun and rewarding, I stay positive and passionate about my craft and what comes with it.
What are the five things you can’t live without?
My family, my supporters, my phone, my car, and my shoes (I’m a big sneakerhead).
What’s next for Rayray in 2021?
What’s next for me in 2021 is more growth, self development and hopefully a mixtape or album.
What is the toughest decision you had to make in the last few months?
The toughest decision I had to make in the last few months was putting my post secondary education on hold to pursue my music career.
Best advice ever given?
“Sacrifice from young”
What is your own definition of happiness?
All my loved ones and those close to me are happy because that’s what makes me happy.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
It would be Jay Z, not only because he is one of the greatest rappers of all time but because I’m attracted to the moves he makes on a business level.
