Hi Sol, please tell us a little about you?
Hey, I’m Solveiga, a creative Lithuanian soul, an open-minded citizen of the world. I’m in love with flora and fauna. I grew up in Lithuania and got to know the world when I became a model.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Cosmopolitan, artistic and positive
Name one of your strengths?
Mindfulness is my strength, being and acting at the moment where I’m current
lWhat inspires you?
Oh, I have a lot of different ways to get inspired. Sometimes it’s positive and motivating people that I meet, my goals that I want to accomplish, and dreams that I want to come true, sometimes my family is my biggest inspiration. Also, what inspires me the most is the idea of being the best and happiest version of myself.
How and why did you get started in modeling?
While studying my final year, I did an internship at an agency that organizes events and international beauty contests, which also organized model castings. I had the opportunity to watch things go by. After graduating, I decided to try working as a model myself. I wanted to test myself in the best Lithuanian model agencies. After passing all the castings, I soon went to work in Milan. I felt free in front of the cameras because I had attended theater and acting classes, and I am also a person who enjoys communicating very much, so I had good baggage that was useful for modeling as well.
What is fun and rewarding about modeling? And what is not?
Opportunity to travel, novelty, constant action, and passion, drives me. The girl working as a model has an opportunity to experience journeys where she meets many different people sharing her different destinies and life stories. While traveling, I love getting to know other cultures, traditions, a different way of life, and different thinking of people – all this fascinates me.
The beginning is exciting but also extremely hard. There was complete confusion when it came to running alone in a foreign country with a large map from one end of the city to the other where castings were taking place. Asking local people in their language where to go, any information that could help me find anything. Although there were moments when I thought that it’s enough for me, I wanted to go home, but I was finding that strength inside me. Also, you are always far from the loved ones, experiencing fierce competition, intrigue, tears, constant tiring journeys, a bunch of suitcases, psychological pressure, heavy physical exertion when there is only time left to sleep.
The most important thing when you are shooting is?
There are many crucial things when shooting. Anyhow, if I need to distinguish one, it’s the attitude you have that day. Attitude covers a lot of things – mood, level of motivation, energy, creativity, and so on. With a good attitude, you can conquer the world!
What’s your advice for the newer models?
I would advise to be attentive and learn as fast as possible – competition is hard. Also, learn who you should trust and who only wants to benefit from you. Be focused and determined. Flexibility, positivity and mindfulness would help you a lot as well!
What is the biggest highlight of your career so far?
For me, the biggest highlight in my career is to overcome myself every time I improve in something. Talking about specific achievements (could call it this way) I was featured in worldwide known magazines such as Vogue, FHM, Grazia, L’officiel, Elle, and others. It also does mean that your hard-work was seen and appreciated.
How does a normal day in your life look like?
Every day of mine is special and different. When I’m having a usual day, I get up, wake my body by drinking a big glass of lemon water and stretching. Then we take a shower, have breakfast, work for a few hours, take a lunch break, and continue working. You know, being a model means having very dynamic days. Sometimes I have shooting for the whole day, some events or filming. Usually, after work, spending time with my family, going to nature, visiting my relatives.
What has been the hardest part of your career?
In the beginning, it was very hard being away from my beloved ones – family and friends, from the home country that I truly love. I felt alone before I met all the amazing people and my horizons got broadened.
Best advice ever given?
The best advice I ever received was from my dad – “Whatever you do – give it 100%”. This really touched me. I know that everything I do, I do it with my heart and try my best.
What’s your favorite show on T.V. right now?
I’m watching TV really rarely I would say. Anyhow, when I’m home sometimes I’m happy to see “Golden mind” (“Auksinis protas”) on Lithuanian national television. You can try yourself by seeing what you know, hear a lot of new and interesting information as well as facts and just to boost your mood watching this great show.
What do you do when you have some time off?
As I mentioned before, we like spending our time with three of us – visiting the places that we’ve never been before – cities, castles, monuments, national parks, zoos and so on. As well as that, me and my fiance love various extreme activities and especially water sports. I love trying something new – from jumping with a parachute to scuba diving.
What is on your bucket list?
In my bucket list, there are many things that I keep on accomplishing. One big target is to travel the whole world, visit all Eight Wonders of the World, adopt some pets, become a mentor to someone, and many others! I have a very long bucket list 🙂
What quote do you live by?
I cannot distinguish one. I have three – “Start each day with a grateful heart”;
“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure” and “Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground”. These quotes really inspire me.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday?
A perfect Sunday is spent with my beloved one, relaxing our minds, doing some water activity and not hurrying anywhere.
What’s next for Sol in 2020?
For a few months that are left in 2020, I’m not planning to go anywhere far or for long, I was planning to have a work trip to New York, we’ll see. Some exciting projects in Lithuania are coming!
Something people don’t know about you?
Hmm, let me think… Some may not know that I was a professional athlete before I became a model, I was high-jumper before I got injured.
Also, some people may think I’m a city girl, but I’m very close to nature, love spending time in the forest, picking berries, mushroom, listening to birds, exploring and knowing the plants…
What is your definition of happiness?
Happiness for me is appreciating everything and working as well as dreaming for improvement and accepting the things that cannot be changed, love others, and myself. This is what self-love is all about, really, acceptance and the ability to love yourself right where you are.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I have my own style that no matter what is the trend, I will keep it. I love a neutral style that matches with almost everything and remains fashionable.
Daily, the most important aspect of clothes is comfiness. So I like sportswear, bohemian, also girly and casual chic styles, vacation (resort) clothing…
How would your best friend describe you?
I think my best friend would describe me as a very kind, and trustworthy person who loves to give advice and is very gentle in situations. Also, would say that I’m always up for new ventures, journeys, and extreme activities!
Any fitness tips you want to share with us?
I could advise you to live in harmony, eat healthy daily, and have an active lifestyle, movement is very important! Do weight exercises when you have an opportunity and when you don’t – you always have a chance to work with your body weight. Practice yoga – it helps so much for the mind and body strength. Swim – relax and train every muscle in the body.
What is your favorite healthy food?
I love nutritious vegetable dishes – I give priority to this type of food, it is so healthy, provides me with energy for the whole day and doesn’t feel heavy.
And your favorite cheat food?
I love Italian food! Pizza! I love pasta with a lot of cheese, ravioli. Of course, I don’t like overeating and enjoy it with moderation.
What music do you like?
I love different kinds of music, it depends so much on the mood and situation. I love dancing to rock, pop, house music, I also love romantic baladas when having a romantic time with my fiance or calm evenings at home. Also rap when I’m doing sports. My taste in music is very broad.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would love to meet one of the greatest Lithuanian poets Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas who was also my grandfather’s brother. It would be very interesting to meet this interesting and creative personality.
Do you support any charity?
Yes, definitely. It is always nice for me to join various kindness campaigns and charities both in Lithuania and abroad – I have contributed to charities helping to combat violence against women, stray animals and other charity campaigns. I believe that every kindness and goodness you give to others, it will come back to you by boomerang and even more without expecting anything.
How important is Social Media for you?
Social media is my hobby and also part of my work. I love treating my audience like friends, it is a great way to get to know them, have nice and interesting discussions, and share important moments with them. Also, it provides an opportunity to inspire and motivate others, share my advice and thoughts. Moreover, social media channels open more doors to self-promotion.
