Check out our interview with talented American actor Daniel Pinder, who will be working with Game of Thrones star Ian Beattie on his new movie; Garrison 7: The Fallen.
Daniel studied acting all throughout the Midwest, Los Angeles, New York City and was a student of The Green Room Studio in Chicago.
In 2014 Daniel had his breakthrough performance as the role of Michael in the first season of Dic Wolf’s hit drama Chicago PD on NBC. From his recognition of playing a skateboard punk thief on Chicago PD, Daniel was asked to bring his talent and expertise to the Warner Bros production We Are Your Friends, with Zac Efron to help with skateboarding in the film.
While working on We Are Your Friends, Daniel met producer Anne Stimac who thought he’d be a great fit for the Action film Skate God. Daniel was cast as Clash in the film alongside Oscar nominated actor Peter Fonda and Evan Ross from The Hunger Games.

Hi Daniel, please tell us a little about you?
I was born at The Military Academy in West Point, NY and I was raised in Fargo, North Dakota. I grew up skateboarding and playing hockey before I started acting. I had my start on Chicago P.D. and have worked on some other cool films like ‘Dear White People’ and ‘We Are Your Friends.’ Fans will soon be catching me in Garrison 7: The Fallen, Lincoln Road and ‘Soul Drift’.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Loyal, Confident, Brave
Who was your role model as a child?
Growing up my role model was my father and he still is. He not only is the strongest guy I’ve ever met, but he showed me taught me how to be the strongest person that I could ever be.
How did you get started into acting?
I was actually attending culinary school and during my studies i realized it just wasn’t for me. I always loved movies and how they can impact people, so I thought I’d give that a try. I reached out to my current agent in Chicago and I landed my first role within about three months. After that, there was no turning back.
How has this changed your life?
Acting has changed my life in so many ways. I’ve been all over the map for my work and I’ve met many incredible people.
Tell us about your upcoming work in “Garrison 7: The Fallen?”
I am so psyched to start filming this project. G7 is a movie that nobody has ever seen before and the audience is going to enter a science fiction world that they’ve never experienced before. I cannot wait for everyone to meet my character Kai!
Are you excited to work with Game of Thrones star Ian Beattie?
Ian came onto the film pretty recently and I cannot be anymore excited! Ian is not only a great actor, but he’s an awesome dude. I first saw Ian on Game of Thrones and I cannot wait to be on set with him.
And about your work in NBC’s “Chicago PD?”
Working on Chicago PD was an amazing experience. From the 5am call times, to having Millennium Park shut down for some of my scenes, the talented cast and crew helped me know that acting was the career path for me. I still work with the casting director frequently and my fans can always catch me in Chicago!
How would your best friend describe you?
It would have to be loyal and always there. I’m always there for everyone I love and am close with. No matter what, if my friends need me I’m there.
What’s next for Daniel Pinder in 2020?
I start filming G7 in the beginning of the new year, so I will be heading out of the US for that! Along with Garrison 7, I have my other movie Soul Drift and I also recently just signed onto an action film called Lincoln Road with UFC’s Amanda Nunes. It’s going to be hectic year, but I cannot wait to get started!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Happiness to me is simply living, while being around the people I love and doing what I love every single day. I used to stress so much about life, but now I see that living is an amazing gift of its own.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Frank Sinatra, no questions asked! He’s one of my favorites and the whole rat pack lifestyle intrigues me.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Lemon Chicken!
And your favorite cheat food?
Pizza is my number one. When can I say? I’m Italian!
Best advice ever given?
When I was younger my grandmother was watching me and noticed I was getting very stressed over studying for school. She told me that “all that matters, is that you try your hardest and everything else is out of your control.” This advice has stuck with me ever since.
Do you support any charity?
I support the ASPCA and other animal charities like the Best Friends Animal Society. I have an adopted pitbull and my two cats have been rescues as well.
Name 3 things you can’t live without?
My animals, my family and pizza.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
5 years from now, I’d love to be married and having a beautiful family. It’s always been my goal to father one day and I’d love to be there in 5 years.
What music do you like?
I’m a fan of pop punk and jazz
What do you think of Social Media?
I have very mixed emotions of social media. I feel social media can be really unhealthy and I also feel it can be beneficial. I think if people realized that they’re all special and beautiful in their own way, then maybe they won’t have to stress about impressing others online.
