Hi Katharina, please tell us a little about you?
My name is Katharina Mazepa, I’m an Austrian model, actress, influencer and former Miss Vienna. I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria and started modeling when I was 16 years old.
A year and a half ago I immigrated to the United States of America, currently calling Miami home, but traveling to LA and NYC for work constantly. Some of my biggest achievements in the industry are my recent worldwide campaign for Guess, being featured in Elle Magazine and Harpers Bazaar; being crowned Miss Vienna and acting in the reality TV show “The Hills: New Beginnings”. Some other clients I’ve worked with in the modeling industry are Vera Wang, La Perla, Kérastase and Ocean Drive Magazine. I work as an influencer as well with a following of about 2 Million across all platforms, with the majority being on Instagram.

Best advice ever given?
When you are lucky enough to have a dream or passion that makes you feel alive and real, you have to fight for it unapologetically.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
My grandmother. She has taught me a lot growing up and even though our lives couldn’t be more different and she is thousands of miles away, I still come to her for advice.
How and when did you start into modeling?
I started modeling when I was 16 as I have always had a passion for fashion, creating art and traveling.
About 2 years into modeling, I was crowned Miss Vienna; while still in university at that point I started to pursue my career on a more international scale, having spent several months at a time in different cities for my job, such as Milan, Singapore, Barcelona, Cape Town and Munich. It has always been my dream to model in the United States and I couldn’t be happier to finally watch this dream unfold.
What is fun and rewarding about modeling? And what is not?
Pro: Every day is new and different, you get to see the world, it is fun and makes me feel alive.
Con: Sometimes agencies try to push you to chase an unhealthy beauty ideal.
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
To try again.
The most important thing when you are shooting is?
Good music.
What’s your advice for the newer models and influencers?
In this industry, you will hear many ‘No’s” – never take them for an answer. Decide what you want and why you want it; visualize success often, hold on to your dream and when you are exhausted remind yourself why you started and how far you have come already.
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far in this business?
For sustainable success it is key to find out for yourself how far you are willing to go and where to draw the line, especially when it comes to your health and today’s beauty standards. Stay true to yourself and your core values.
What do you think is the secret to having a successful IG account?
Consistency.

What actor/actress/model do you admire the most, and why?
Monica Belluci. I love her performance as a bond girl and think she is an iconic beauty.
What’s next for Katharina Mazepa in 2022?
Acting.
Which project is still on your bucket list?
More partnerships with animal rights organizations.
In five years from now, where do you see yourself and your career?
In the next year I definitely want to continue focusing on what I am doing now, keep connecting with my followers around the world and travel lots for modeling and acting.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Berries.
And your favorite cheat food?
Vegan grilled cheese.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Gratitude.
How would your best friend describe you?
A bit crazy with a pure heart.
Who is your biggest beauty inspiration?
My mom.
How would you explain your fashion style and what items in your closet can you not be without?
Definitely go without some nice lingerie.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Oscar Wilde. His literary work is still relevant and I bet he knows how to have a good time.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
I have always dreamt of exploring the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru. I would love to go with my family.

What music do you like?
Definitely depends on my mood, but I have always loved Chill House music.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Anything involving a swimsuit.
