Known as a music visionary, the track spotlights evrYwhr’s signature blend of positive, uplifting R&B pop which has been making waves for its cinematic and orchestral vibes. In addition to creating his own music, the songsmith’s decorated career includes collaborations with a number of artists such as Leona Lewis, Mila J, Aaron Carter, and Gospel rapper Lecrae who he co-wrote two songs for off his 2013 GRAMMY-winning album, Gravity, in addition to co-writing for k-pop boy band MCND’s international hit “CRUSH,” which has garnered over 25 million global streams.

The pillars I hold dear for my life are love, freedom & community.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Blessed, Intuitive & Godly
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry? How has this changed your life?
I got into the industry with years of hard work, failure, exploration, prayer, consistency, self evaluation, and building relationships with those who value what I have to offer creatively. Being in the music industry has afforded me the opportunities to travel the world using my gift of songwriting and performance to connect with cultures that differ from mine.
I remember as a baby, I would sit with my dad on the couch in our basement and listen to vinyl. Songs like Marvin’s “After The Dance,” The Chi-Lites’ “Oh Girl,” and Curtis Mayfield’s “Move on Up” led me to my own internal reservoir of joy. Music was ubiquitous, and the artform stuck with me as a way of expression; it gave me an opportunity to provide my unique voice of perspective to the greater collective.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Psychedelic Afro-R&B
Who influences you and why did you choose to make music?
I’ve been influenced by Curtis Mayfield, Michael Jackson & my relationship with God. Music gives me an opportunity to connect with myself and others using frequencies, progressions, lyric, and melody to shine a light on the human experience. In the end, music chose me.
Tell us about your single “Take Your Time?” What’s the story behind the song?
“Take Your Time” was inspired by dance. I’ve been spending quite a bit of time connecting at events here in ATL such as, N.U.E Atlanta’s Like Glue, Silence In The City, and The Safari Series at Rocksteady. I’m deeply inspired by my African ancestry as well as the Afro & Caribbean genres of music the world is being blessed with and I believe dance is necessary for people to move out of the stagnation of where the pandemic left us as a society. Everyone deserves a good whine to relieve the stress of daily life, so I created “Take Your Time” to add to your favorite dance playlists.
Now tell us about your experience working with big names in the industry such as Leona Lewis, Mila J, Aaron Carter, MCND, and Gospel rapper Lecrae?
In each of those situations, I was introduced to the opportunity when someone of influence with the artist saw my gift of songwriting and took a chance on me. I’m grateful.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding part of my work is that I’ve been blessed as a vessel of creation to share my perspective on the human experience in the form of song.
What would you say is the greatest lesson you learned so far?
Believe in myself no matter what outsiders say.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Trust God’s guidance. You won’t be able to understand why certain things are happening in your life until you’ve moved through the moments and look back with new perspective and wisdom. Trust God always.
How would your best friend describe you?
Hilarious, Loving & Free Spirited
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
If I were a book, my title would be “How To Make Sunflower Tea.” It’s a story of how I found the depths of my authentic confidence & joy on the other side of depression.
What’s next for evrYwhr in the last months of 2022 and for 2023?
I’ll be releasing a single on 11.11.22 and will contribute a project to the world in 2023. I’m grateful to give.
How would you explain your fashion style?
My fashion style is Intuitively felt on a daily basis. I dress based on how I feel in the moment and what I’m looking to share of myself with my garments.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Happiness is perpetually living in fulfillment & acceptance of the present moment.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Assuming we could understand one another’s language, I would want to meet Jesus to ask him for clarification on a few things that have been translated in the Bible.
Best advice someone has ever given you?
Have faith.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
In 5 years I’ll be continuously expanding my global reach as an artist compared to the creative genius of Pharrell, Michael Jackson & Drake. I’ll also be creating experiences, sharing wisdom and taking strategic action to empower impactful spiritual & holistic healing for over 75 million people across the world through my community Freedom Lovetribe Gang.
