Hi Dylan, please tell us a little about you?
Born in Vancouver BC. Baby of 4 siblings. Momma’s boy.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Just three words?
How did you get started in acting?
I was always a hyperactive and attention hungry child. I think my mom wanted some time to herself so she put me in a youth acting program and the rest is history.
How has this changed your life?
I’ve met so many talented artists and creatives while working on this project. My idea of work ethic in the arts has totally changed since being on this set. Never have I seen so many hard-working and talented people.
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
Best part is meeting different talented cast and crew members on different shows. Worst part is how little control you have over some aspects of your career.
How do you prepare for a role?
Read and read and read! I need to understand the arc of the story and how and why my character fits into it. Having a grasp on the material is crucial to that so I read the script many times until I can see the story’s trajectory in my own head.
Tell us about your work in the hugely anticipated Paramount+ series “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies?”
I had the privilege of being part of this fabulous ensemble cast playing the role of Neil, one of the Socs. The cinematic scope of this show is astounding and I can’t wait for people to see the incredible dance numbers and hear all the catchy new tunes.
And about your role as Neil?
Neil is the guy who you love to hate. Was so much fun playing such an unlikeable guy. I had too much fun playing such a jerk!
What other projects you have been part of?
Keep your eyes peeled for the fourth season of Creepshow on Shudder! Got a fun episode on this newest season.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
Something more in the comedic range, though I have a great time playing bad guys!
Can you name 3 actors/actresses you would love to work with?
Paul Dano, Adrien Brody and Natasha Lyonne
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Hearing from viewers that they enjoyed watching. Tv and film is my favourite form of escapism so it’s nice to be able to give that to someone else.
What’s your advice for the newer actors?
Keep at it and don’t take anything personally.
How would your best friend describe you?
Narcissistic self-serving egomaniac (does this have to go in here?)
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Wash your pillowcase every other day. Really helped with my acne.
What’s next for Dylan Sloane in 2023?
Escaping the sweet embrace of funemployment
What is your favorite healthy food?
Any salad with protein
And your favorite cheat food?
Fried Chicken
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Nikola Tesla, just to see what kind of crazy inventions they would be able to come up with today.
Do you support any charity?
Greater Vancouver Food Bank!
What do you think of Social Media?
Posting on social media scares me.
