Filled with heart, warmth, strength and love, A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE tells the story of ‘Markus’ (Brooks), a creatively stifled hotshot working at a trendy magazine company as a photographer who is looking to move on to something new. The company has hired a new girl ‘Emma’ (Tamera Mowry) to help bring in new and fresh ideas for the magazine. As the office “grinch,” ‘Markus’ is hesitant to be a team player and accept the new higher until he sees her ideas being claimed by someone else at the company. Coming together and growing closer as they continue to work together, ‘Markus’ with the help of ‘Emma’ discovers the true meaning and importance of the holidays.
After booking roles on series such as the CW’s “Nikita,” and A&E’s “Breakout Kings,” Brooks landed his first big role in the action-packed thriller reboot TOTALL RECALL. After the film’s success, Brooks moved from Canada to Los Angeles where he would go on to book roles on popular series including Freeform’s “Shadow Hunters: The Mortal Instruments,” and the iconic soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” on CBS.
When Brooks isn’t busy on screen, he can be found behind the lens of a camera as an avid photographer. He can also be found in the gym, on a hiking trail or practicing deep meditation as health and wellness are of great importance.

Giving, honest, loving.
Who was your role model as a child?
My dad, Jean Claude Van Damme, Michael Jackson.
How did you get started into acting?
My mom made my brothers and I read and perform monologues, speeches, and skits.
How has this changed your life?
Performing at a young age planted the seed early.
Tell us about your work in upcoming film “A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE?”
It was an amazing experience! Tamera and I deliver a heartwarming performance.
And about your role as Markus?
He’s a very likable and loving character, easy to fall in love with, and a strong well-rounded man.
How was working alongside Tamera Mowry-Housley?
Tamera is hands down the most positive person I know. So full of life and brilliant on camera. We came up with so much great stuff together. We were able to lean on each other from the first scene.
What other projects you have been part of?
I have a few projects that I’m currently working on. We are currently locking down Russia as our prime location.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Sharing life with strangers.
How would you explain your fashion style?
Kravitz, Clooney, All American Rocker Chic!
What would be a deal breaker on a first date?
A potty mouth.
How would your best friend describe you?
Spontaneous.
What’s next for Brooks Darnell in 2019/2020?
New horizons. So, stay tuned.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Freedom, creating, sharing, eating clean, exercising, and traveling.
How is a normal day in your life?
Working out, reading, calls with my team, and work.
What is your idea of a perfect Sunday?
Relaxing, watching football, and an amazing meal.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Brando- One acting lesson. Jimmy H- One guitar riff. Steve Jobs – One hundred Apple shares. MJ- One dance move.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Salmon
And your favorite cheat food?
Fresh cut fries and Sweet Lady Jane Chocolate Cake.
Best advice ever given?
Stay humble and compassionate.
Name 3 things you can’t live without?
Exercise, Water, A purpose!
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Accepting the baton from Tom Cruise.
Favorite song? Why?
A change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke -So many emotions, generation struggles, and hope in a single song. Also, another favorite is Nostalgia by Yanni on his 2003 Live feat- duduk instrument prelude by Pedro Eustache. Pure Motivation!
