Describe yourself in 3 words?
Passionate, Intuitive, Ambitious
How did you get started into the lifestyle/beauty field?
I watched tons of makeup videos when I was 13. When I say tons, I mean I was staying up until 2 A.M. every night to scour YouTube for beauty content and binge watch videos. After spending so many hours glued to my screen, I had the idea to start up my own beauty channel so I could be like the girls I was watching!
How has this changed your life?
YouTube changed my life in every way possible. It’s given me countless dream opportunities, like traveling to different places, and I’ve been blessed to have this as my living!
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Meeting the people who follow me is hands down the best feeling I experience. Seeing how happy or excited they are to see me gives me goosebumps every time.
Now tell us about your new sustainably-designed merch and where the idea to create this came from?
My sustainably-designed merch is a collection of items that, between my followers and myself, have meaning behind it. I knew that when I was ready to launch merch, creating something that was eco-friendly was an important factor. I value quality clothing as well as having it be made in a sustainable way.
What is the key to your success?
My support system, aka my family and close friends, have helped me be where I am today. Without their love, guidance, and support, I’m not sure if I could’ve done it.
Which project is still on your bucket list?
My biggest bucket list project is co-creating a bikini line or having my own.
What is your own definition of happiness?
To me, happiness means being content in the present moment that you’re experiencing. I think we ourselves can make our own happiness, with whatever circumstances we’re in. Happiness can be hard to describe. Sometimes it feels so exhilarating and endless, yet other times it feels like we may never feel it again. I believe it to be a positive mental state of being.
Best advice ever given?
The future doesn’t exist, so don’t worry about it.
Do you support any charity?
My favorite organization is a local one here in Hawai’i called Sustainable Coastlines. They’re a great group of people who care a lot about the ocean and environment, and are constantly doing things to help better it.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Between you and me, it’s hard to even picture where I’ll be a mere 5 months from now. To give a more tangible answer though, in 5 years I’ll have definitely moved out of my childhood home. The biggest question mark for me is will I stay in Hawaii, or move on to someplace new? Career-wise, I hope in 5 years that I’ve created something I’m passionate about outside of YouTube, while still continuing to share my life on social media.
What do you think of Social Media?
Social media can be both the best and worst thing, depending on your outlook on it at a given time.
Where we can follow you?
You can find me on pretty much any social media platform if you search up Ava Jules!
