With some huge early career support from the likes of Solomun, Dixon, Adriatique and Trikk to name a few, Israeli duo Hard To Tell (Roy Leibovitz and Roi Zarhi) have consolidated their status as the pair you want to see behind the decks if you’re going out for a night of a lifetime in Tel Aviv. Over the past three years they’ve brought that intensity and showmanship to gigs in Ibiza, Berlin, Brazil, Slovakia, Tulum, Italy, Mykonos among others, and their global takeover is assured with a slew of upcoming releases and an album in work.

Hi guys, please tell us a little about yourself?
Hi guys we are happy to be here. We are Roy & Roi a.k.a Hard To Tell from Tel Aviv, Israel.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get into the music industry?
We started listening to electronic music back in the 80’s. We just loved to go to underground clubs and raves and stay there from night till the morning. We love to be on stage or at the dj booth in the club and we love the feeling of being an artist and playing and making music . We started to make our own music 5 years ago.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Different, unique, unexpected.
Tell us about your label Pills on Heels
We always wanted to release a lot of music of us and music from different artists that we love and when you have your own label you can do it whenever you like so we decided to open our label “Pills On Heels” like 3 years ago with our partner Nariz. A lot of fresh music coming up in 2022 !
You have any new releases coming up that you can tell us about?
We got a nice release very soon on a nice label that we really love but for now we still can’t talk about it…
Which artists and styles have inspired and influenced you over the course of your career?
There are a lot of artists that we really appreciate. Not everyone makes electronic music. We can not choose only one name .
When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out?
When the party’s are over we like to go home and sleep and eat very well and enjoy the quiet. The problem is that sometimes the party’s never over haha!
Best stage you have ever played on?
In Chan Hashayarot at the desert of Israel with Adriatique , Dennis Horvat , Innellea . We also had nice gigs in Mykonos and Ibiza and Brazil that we will never forget .
Funniest / craziest thing that’s ever happened at an event?
We have lots of funny experiences from every event we play. Sometimes we play for many hours and drink a lot and then find that there are no toilets close to the stand, it can be especially funny.
What’s your favorite club to perform in?
We love to play at The BLOCK club and at the Drama club in Tel Aviv.
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
It is very fun to travel all over the world and meet new people and new cultures all the time. Sometimes it’s tiring and sometimes you are not at home and in your studio for a long time so is a little bit hard and not fun but its ok we have to stay in focus about our goals .
What’s next for Hard to Tell in 2022?
in 2022 we will release a lot of new music on different labels and on our own label “Pills On Heels” . We will also be playing in big festivals and clubs around the world and we are hope to see you somewhere soon!
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice we have been given and that we want to give is to just stay good and humble people and keep working hard all the time for your dreams.
Name one your strengths?
It’s hard for us to talk about our own benefits. We prefer to hear it from others.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
On Sunday is time to stay at the studio all day long and be with family and friends in the evening.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Lots of green vegetables and water
And your favorite cheat food?
Lots of Mcdonald’s
What would be a deal breaker on a first date?
Good taste in music
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
We don’t know yet haha.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years we see us playing in all the best festivals and Raves and of course in all the best private after parties 🙂 We also want to keep releasing a lot of music!
How would you describe your fashion style?
About fashion we need to learn more. For now we love to go with black or dark clothes .
What do you think of Social Media?
We think social media is a very important tool in an artist’s career. And you have to invest in it all the time.
