Interview with “Joey and Ella” lead actress Jennifer Michele

Hi Jennifer, please tell us a little about you?

I am a girl who loves to see the beauty in things. I feel life is beautiful. I have grown up most of my life in California, in the Glendale Area of ( the greater Los Angeles ). I Love traveling and being an artist. I feel most at home when being creative. I love acting, directing, modeling, singing, dancing, and editing. I have always loved Art and Fashion. I also have a soft spot for animals.

Describe yourself in 3 words?

Compassionate , Dreamy, Determined

Name one your strengths?

I guess one of my big strengths is my how tenacious I can be.

How did you get started into acting?

I always loved movies as a child, and new from an early age I wanted to entertain people. I got my first agent at 8 or 9, things just picked up from there.

How has this changed your life?

Well, I stay pretty busy going after my dreams and filming. I guess every role I play I learn more about myself, people and life in general. Overall acting has made me a more happy, compassionate person. Many time’s I gain empathy from putting myself in a character’s shoes.

What is the best and worst part of being an actress?

I like to start with the positive! The best part is getting to act. To get to take part in stories that change the way people perceive something. I like to entertain people and make them feel something, either laugh, cry or think. The worst part I guess I would say difficult not bad, is rejection. That can be tough at times or just disappointing when I really want something and sometimes have to wait or don’t book it.

Tell us about the film “Joey and Ella?”

Joey and Ella was a really fun film. I loved playing Ella. She was a girl that started the movie being one way and had a really nice journey. In the film I make friends with a kangaroo. I develop a crush on a boy. There’s a lot of fun, exciting moments in the film as well. There’s a robbery and some cool action. I don’t want to give too much away but I believe it’s a really feel- good family movie, people will enjoy. I like making people feel good!

How do you prepare for a role?

That’s always different depending on the character, and also if the role is more comedic or dramatic. Most often I have things similar I do for every role like fully read the script. Then I start building my character, creating everything about my character. Then I go into memorizing my lines and actions and opinions. After that I put all this together.

What other projects you have been part of?

All my projects can be found on my IMDB. One of my other favorite Projects was working on 911 with Angela Bassett, and the whole crew! I’m a big fan of the show, and Angela and Jennifer and the whole cast!

What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?

I honestly like all roles I’m fortunate enough to play. All the characters are always so interesting, being an actor is very interesting to me. I would love to get the chance to do more sci-fi character because I love sci-fi ! I also would like play Character’s that are enduring, imperfect and brave, because I feel these types of characters inspire people.

What is the most rewarding part of your work?

Well I feel super blessed anytime I get a role because the industry is so competitive. I just love acting so acting itself is a reward, but I feel extra lucky when something I took part of impacts someone or inspires them. I love inspiring people.

Which project is still on your bucket list?

I want to act in movie’s and direct one day. Direct movies like and with some of my favorite directors. For example some directors I love are, Christopher Nolan , Baz luhrmann, Patty Jenkins, James Cameron , Pierre Michel – Estival just to name a few.

How would your best friend describe you?

I asked my Best friend and they said “Jennifer’s a kindhearted caring girl, who would do anything for her friends. She is super passionate and has always been a super fun person to be around. “

What’s next for Jennifer Michele in 2020?

I have more acting roles coming up that I will post on my Instagram when I can say exactly what they are. I will also be learning more directing and editing!

What is your own definition of happiness?

I find true happiness to be when you are balanced and prospering mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially. I feel most at peace creating Art!

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

I would choose Audrey Hepburn. I am a big fan of her work. I think she is very classy and talented and I like that she also speaks Dutch! I aspire to be like her!

Best advice ever given?

I feel like my parents always are inspiring, but something my friend/mentor Pierre Michele-Estival said to me that really helped me was “Do what you feel is right and the right people come to you.” This is so true in so many ways. And I feel that everyone can relate and take something from it.

What is your favorite healthy food?

I love Omelettes and salads. Oh and acai bowls. 

And your favorite cheat food?

Anything chocolate, cookies, cheesecake, pizza and burgers.

Do you support any charity?

I love a lot of charities but right now I especially love children’s hospital.

Idea of a perfect Sunday?

Having a big breakfast, watching movies ad spending time with family.

Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?

I hope to be in inspiring movies, and win an award for directing a film.

Favorite song? Why?

A million dream- greatest showman. Me and my dad would belt this, and it always left me feeling happy and inspired.

What do you think of Social Media?

I love social media, I feel like it has a lot of influence and just like with anything it can be good or bad influence, but I hope to spread positivity as I grow on social media platforms.
