Hi Danielle, please tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in Westchester, NY. My parents are both from Puerto Rican descent and NYPD officers. I also grew being the only girl with three brothers. From this outlook it wasn’t the norm for me to go into acting. From an early age my parents would tell me I was always so fascinated with the concept of performing, television, and film. I believe I just had that desire in me, even though I didn’t see it around my immediate environment. I am grateful that my family always supported my dreams and helped me pursue them.
How do you prepare for a role?
My process tends to be different depending on the role. However, when preparing for a role, I usually start with trying to gather as much information on the character and on the project. Then I use every detail I gathered to assist me in my preparation.
Who has been your biggest inspiration in your acting career, and in what ways have they influenced your approach to your craft?
My mother! Growing up and throughout the years I’ve watched her in her career never letting any “no(s)” or person(s) stop her from her dreams! I live by that motto and continuously remind myself daily to keep going just a little bit further!
Tell us about your work in the popular Amazon crime drama “Bosch: Legacy?”
Landing a role in Bosch Legacy has been a dream fulfilled. Being given the opportunity to sign on to a show with such a big following and community has been so awesome! Thus far I’ve learned so much, and I am so grateful the Bosch Legacy family has welcomed me with open arms!
And about your role as Paulina Calderon?
Playing Officer Paulina Calderon is so special to me, as my mom is a retired NYPD officer. So, it feels like I’ve come full circle with one of my goals. Most importantly, however, is being able to represent my mom and Latinas in that field as it is such an honor which I take on the responsibility and representation of the role very seriously.
What other projects have you been part of?
Right now, you guys can catch me in “This is Me.. Now” on Amazon Prime Feb 16th.
What’s next for Danielle Larracuente in 2024?
Next for me is jumping to the next project and continuing to build my career. I recently had the amazing opportunity to play the lead in a rom-com. I had a lot of fun filming, and I am very excited about this project! The minute I can give more details, I will keep my Naluda Magazine posted!
What is your own definition of happiness?
My definition of happiness is having a level of peace within myself. That is my focus and the ultimate road to happiness. Without peace, nothing will work.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Viola Davis! She is a huge inspiration for me in my career. I love her unapologetic attitude and her undeniable talent!
Do you support any charities?
Yes! Soroptimist! It’s a charity/ organization that helps young girls invest in their dreams!
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years?
I see myself becoming EGOT!
I also see myself having my own production company, and making my own projects where I can give opportunities to my community.
Favorite song? Why?
My favorite song right now is, This year (blessings) remix – Victor Thompson
Being from the Caribbean (Puerto Rico) I find the beat and the vibe awesome. I also really love the message it tells and how it gets me in a good mood!
What do you think of social media?
I love social media, it gives me the opportunity to stay connected to my community, industry, and fans in such a productive way. I can’t wait to connect with my favorite brands more in the future!
