Hi girls, please tell us a little about you?
We are a Miami-based DJ duo that always comes prepared wearing our boots to a set because, when we wear our boots, you know we’re ready to party and dance all night long.
Describe yourself in three words.
Blondes, Boots, PARTY!!
We’re sure you have been asked this a million times, but how did you get into the industry?
We met through modeling together and always shared a love for house music. We used to practice DJing together for fun and filming our sets to post on Instagram; one thing led to another, and now here we are!
Describe your sound in three words.
Our sound is fun, energetic, and groovy.
Do you ever get nervous?
Sometimes, before a big set, we’ve felt a little bit of an adrenaline rush, but once we start playing and see people dancing, we feed off of that energy!
Which artists and styles inspired and influenced you?
Our style varies, and we like to explore different genres of house. Brooke tends to lean more towards techno/tech house, and some of her favorite artists are Eli Brown and Cloonee. Lissa also loves Tech House but sometimes prefers to play Deep and Afro House tracks throughout the set. Some of her favorite artists are Solomun and Mochakk.
When all the partying is over, how do you like to chill out?
When the party’s over, we like to go back to our hotel room, order a plethora of room service, and watch a movie.
Best stage you have ever played?
We recently sold out a show at Casona De Camana in Lima, Peru, and the whole club was grooving!
Funniest or craziest thing that ever happened at an event?
There were a couple of crazy fans that went overboard and unfortunately needed to be escorted out of the DJ booth.
What’s your favorite club or event to DJ in?
We really loved playing at No.9 in Chicago; the energy was unmatched; the staff even wore boots for us that night!
Now tell us about your experience playing at so many fun events in Miami?
We’ve played at a couple of events for one of our favorite brands, Oh Polly, Miami Swim Week runway shows, and Model Volley Ball.
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
Fun: getting to play our own music at the club—essentially curating the vibes.
What’s not? When people request Bad Bunny.
What’s your advice for the newer DJ’s / producers?
Market yourself on social media, stay connected with other people in the industry, and just have fun!
What was the first record that you bought?
Do Fergie and Britney Spears CDs from the early 2000’s count?
What’s next for BlondesNBoots and for Lissa and Brooke in the last months of 2023 and for 2024?
We’re about to head out to Las Vegas to DJ some events for the F1 races, Art Basel, and be on the lookout for some of our own original tracks in 2024.
How do you guys manage a very busy life in the modeling industry and still have time to DJ and prepare new sets?
Some people might underestimate the amount of time, dedication, and energy it takes but we love what we do so it’s all worth it.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
Always wear your boots to the club…its a lot more comfortable.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
We love Paris Hilton…we would be SLIVING our best lives!
Best advice ever given?
Ignore the haters.
Name one of your strengths.
We really know how to get a crowd going.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Living in Miami you get to enjoy beautiful weather all year long so we like to take advantage of it by laying out by the beach, ordering food, drinks, and chilling out.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Getting to wake up every day and doing what you love.
Do you support any charity?
We volunteer at the Little Lighthouse Foundation to read and do crafts with less fortunate children.
What is your favorite healthy food?
We love making healthy smoothies after the gym.
And your favorite cheat food?
Hot dogs! We order them in every city that we play in, except they didn’t have any in Peru.
What would be a deal-breaker on a first date?
Them asking to split the bill.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
Mainstage at Tommorowland.
How would you describe your fashion style?
