Aside from publishing their magazine, the dynamic duo became authors in 2016. Their first book “Mindset on Increase” (2016). Then releasing their first children’s book “The Sky Is The Limit (2019). In 2016, “Mindset on Increase” sold over 200,000 copies worldwide by sharing through social media. Both books assist in spiritual growth, healing, and affirmations. Pilar and River set out on a press tour for their new children’s book “The Sky Is The Limit”.

Hi River, please tell us a little about you?
I am a model, author, and actor. Following in my mother’s celebrity wardrobe stylist, Pilar Scratch, aunt IHeartRadio radio personality Madison Jaye and my aunt rapper Rah Digga. I started working in the entertainment industry I have made appearances on Nickelodeon for “Love Tribe Apparel”, “Evil Lives Here” Investigation Discovery, JohnLegend” Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” which debuted on ABC, ”Hustlers” movie” starring JLo & Cardi B, Durand Jones & The Indications video “Morning in America” debuting on Billboard, Laurie Berkner Band ”This Mountain” which debuted o n PBS Kids, Fox “Dr. Oz” , VH1 “Love & Hip Hop New York”, and CBS “The Good Fight”. I also made cameo appearances in countless commercials for PWC For the Tribeca Film Festival, 10 percent Happier digital commercial, Love Pop Greeting Card, and the scholastic school commercial for Walmart.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
I would describe myself as nice, funny, intelligent.
How did you get started into acting and writing?
I got started in the entertainment industry by being on set with my mother. When I was an infant my mother was styling a major video shoot in California. I was with her. The director of the video shoot saw me on set and wanted to use me in an Ad he had coming out. The rest is history.
How has this changed your life?
Being an influencer has changed my life because I see myself on television a lot more now. Also, a lot of people recognize me from social media or tv when I’m out with my mother.
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
The best part of being an actor is Crafty service, lol. I love craft services on set. Also making new friends and seeing my friends pursue their dreams. The worst part is there really isn’t any. I love what I do.
How do you prepare for a role?
I prepare for a role by memorizing and writing down the hard lines. I also pretend I’m in character around the house. It makes me feel like I’m really the character.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I would love to get a role on a Sifi Network. I’m really into Sifi these days. I feel the role would really challenge me. It would also be cool to be on set and observe how everything is created.
Now tell us about your new book “The Sky Is The Limit”? And where we can buy it?
In 2019, I published my first children’s book. My book is now international.” The Sky Is The Limit” is on its way to being a best seller. I sold close to two thousand copies in its debuting week. All-in-all selling 1,868 physical copies and 102 E-books of his book through social media platforms. We are sold and distributed in the retail chains of Walmart, Barnes & Noble, Indigo, Amazon. The purpose of the book sets the bar for children to live their dreams at any age because the sky is truly the limit.
Where do you get the inspiration for the books?
I received my inspiration for “The Sky Is The Limit” by my daily routine. Since I was a child my mother , Pilar Scratch, and I have practiced mantras and positive affirmations. I told my mom that I wanted to help other children my age understand chakras, natural healing and meditation . “The Sky Is The Limit” simplifies spirituality for children of all ages.
What other projects have you been part of?
I have walked in New York Fashion Week . River walked the runway for Sean John, Erika Anzel and Chubiiline. I have had modeling campaigns on countless billboards and print advertisements. My billboard features debuted in Times Square with Junkless Granola Bars, Berkeley’s Center for Dezzy Footwear, and Curly Kids Hair Care in California. As well, I partnered with Gogo Squeez Applesauce in which he filmed a commercial with Disney World Resort. The list of print campaigns range from MoonPod Advertisement, PopSugar “Young Faces”, New Pop Popcorn, AlternaVitamins as seen on the Today Show, Bixbee Buzz for Target, Ihop, Roadway Moving Company, Emmy’s Organics, & Nature’s Bakery social media campaign.
At eight years old I co-hosted “The Queens Youth Musical Festival” alongside actor Jaleel White. Adding to my list of accomplished catalog Iwas requested and walked EGOT winner Rita Morna down the red carpet at the Bronx Children’s Museum. Which gave me the access to be interviewed by News Channel 12, Oprah Magazine, and People Magazine. I have attended immeasurable red carpet events. I walked the red carpet for major motion pictures such as “The Missing Link” premiere and “The Lego Movie 2” premiere.
I have been featured on the cover of countless magazines: Mallae Kids Magazine, Wildchild Magazine, LWL Magazine, Full Blossom Magazine, Glam CEO Magazine, Fashion Gxd Magazine, Kids Play Magazine, and CEO Kids Magazine. For my contribution in the arts in my hometown of Newark, New Jersey a dedication to me is plastered alongside “Newark School of the Arts” presented by the Mayor of Newark Raz Baraka.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding part of my work is making my mom and dad proud.
How would your best friend describe you?
I actually asked my best friend Rylee. She said I am silly, funny, have big feet, and I love my mom a lot but I don’t like to show it.
What’s next for River Mason in 2020?
As soon as COVID is over I’m actually going to start filming for a major network. Cross fingers, everything is still up in the air.
What is your own definition of happiness?
My definition of happiness is when you love yourself and celebrate all your victories no matter how big or small.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
I would meet my big grandma. She passed away a couple of years ago and I miss her a lot. I hope she’s looking at me and proud of me.
Best advice ever given?
The best advice I was ever given was “ Never stop keep trying” my dad told me that. It’s true. I can never give up.
Do you support any charity?
My mom and I lived in Saint Rosco’s Shelter in Newark, New Jersey in 2011 -2012. Now my mom is a vast success story and my mother, Pilar Scratch, was named Forbes “Stylist of the Millennial Generation”. I was too young to remember living there. However, once a year around the holidays we go and give back toys and feed the families staying there. We also donate over 300 turkeys to the IHOP turkey drive every year and we go and pass out turkeys to families in need. My mom always says it’s important to remember where you came from.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
In five years I will be a bi actor starring in a major motion picture or a top tier television show. No preference. lol.
Favorite song? Why?
Roddy Rich “The Box” because it’s about him progressing through his career. The song talks about how he started from nothing and now he is successful. It’s very inspirational.
What do you think of Social Media?
I think social media is a great way to connect and make new friends. I’ve met a lot of people and built a lot of great friendships through social media.
