Hi Yaya, please tell us a little about you?
My name is Yaya Chronicles, I’m 13 years old, and I make music.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Unique, versatile, caring
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
I got into the industry by the inspiration of my older brother and I feel in love with it ever since then.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
versatile, smooth, creative.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
My older brother influenced me, and I decided to start making music to change the worlds perspective on young artists.
Do you play any instrument?
I play guitar
Do you ever get nervous?
Of course
Tell us about your new song “D to the NYC?”
Me and Brooklyn made this song when she came to NY and it was the first day we ever met. We immediately knew that we would do good together so we just went to work.
How was working with Brooklyn Queen in this song?
It was a very fun process
What’s the story behind the song?
Since she is from Detroit and I’m from NY we were both thinking it would be hot if we made a song call “D to the NYC”
Did you have plans/concerts planned and cancelled because of COVID? If so have you done any online concerts or interaction with your fans?
I was scheduled to finish recording my album but it got pushed back because of the pandemic. I have a studio in my basement now, so I’m back to work!
Which project is still on your bucket list?
Im dropping my first album The Chronicles and working on the deluxe right now.
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
I love to see how my supporters react when they hear my music. Whether they like it or they don’t its all a learning process.
What’s next for Yaya in the last months of 2020?
The Chronicles for sure
What is you favorite song? And why?
My favorite song is gonna have to be “This Aint That” by Trippie Redd and Lil Mosey. This song really stuck with me because I love how the beat just flows with their melodies, and that song was a huge inspiration to me.
Any loves other than music?
No
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
It would definitely be Trippie Redd. He is my biggest inspiration.
Best advice ever given?
You have to get out of your comfort zone to be comfortable.
How’s a typical day in your life?
School, Homework, Music.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Hanging with friends and laying low
What is you favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
Goosebumps
What is your own definition of happiness?
My definition of happiness is something that brings you joy.
Do you support any charities?
Yes, I give homeless people my money whenever I see them.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Broccoli is the best
And your favorite cheat food?
Mcdonalds
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
One of the greatest
How would you describe your fashion style?
Very casual/baggy clothes
