[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Check our interview with American actor and musician Quincy Fouse who is best known for his role as “Nate Munson” in the smash box office hit Logan, as well as his series regular role as “Malik” on Netflix’s All About The Washingtons. Quincy can currently be seen starring as Milton ‘MG’ Greasley in Legacies, the CW’s hit spinoff of Vampire Diaries and The Originals, produced by Julie Plec.
In the music space Quincy is known as Soul Fro and just released his latest music video for his single “I KNOW.” Leading lady alongside Quincy is Lexi Stevenson (“The Young and the Restless”). The video captures a very strong moment in his Los Angeles experience and embodies the heights and depths Quincy has felt in finding romance along the path taken for his career. Directed by Barry Galperin and filmed at Montana de Oro in San Luis Obispo.
Quincy is heavily influenced by Erykah Badu, Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, Frank Ocean, and a 90s hip hop spirit.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Hi Quincy, please tell us a little about you?
Hey, I’m Quincy and I officially make a living “doing what I want to” and it’s a good time.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Everything, nothing, balanced.
Name one of your strengths?
Objective perspective.
How’s a typical day in your life?
My days haven’t had a rhyme or reason since I was in high school, but to sum it up, I’ve been on a million mini missions building my career!
Who is your biggest supporter?
God. But I have to shout out my mom, too. She put her entertainment career on hold to raise me, it’s a goal of mine to cast her in one of my movies and bring the love full circle.
How did you get started in the industry?
I actually wasn’t trying to act, I attended an acting workshop run by Greg James and Krisha Bullock to try and impress with my beatboxing and get casted doing just that in Disney’s “Ant Farm” or something else. In the process of holding a script for the first time, I just fell in love with this thing and have been developing my relationship with it ever since.
What was your first acting role?
I was the infamous Josh X that took “K.C. Undercover” by storm. They didn’t air my footage, but I still was paid though.
Do you have or had acting classes?
Yeah! I learned the most by taking a dramatic improv course with people way better than me, my favorite circumstances to learn in. I cried a couple of times.
What is the best and worst part of being an actor?
From my personal experience, I’m getting paid to play an intense game of make believe, and that’s amazing. The worst part is that I’m not so versed in this world’s culture, and every once in a while that creates a social disconnect, but I’m naturally learning and becoming more versed as time goes on, so I don’t worry about it.
Best advice ever given?
Something I honestly apply to everything is to live in respect and support from the inside out. In every thing you do.
How do you prepare for a role?
I look at what a character wants and loves in healthy and unhealthy ways. I take into consideration the influences of the character’s circumstances and create a foundation template to “act naturally” from.
Now tell us about your work as Milton ‘MG’ Greasley in “Legacies?”
It’s been a lot of fun! MG and I have a lot of similarities so I’ve gotten to do these dope dance scenes, but then I get jealous because both me and MG want to be Wesley Snipe’s ‘Blade’ but it’s actually possible for him.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
Honestly, if I can find genuine empathy with a character I’m down! Since my perspective is ever growing, my empathy is touched by different things and that’s what I’ll give effort to. But I will say I’ve been fantasizing about playing the live action Miles Morales and Huey Freeman since 2015 [laughs].

I was blessed with an amazing team to create this intimate and fun journey that juxtaposes interplanetary experiences and romance. What is next for Quincy Fouse in 2019?
What’s next? Well, I’m shooting my shot in a big way… But other than that specific move (and y’all will see soon enough) keeping up with my health, being happy and doing what I want as life goes on!
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
Donald Glover’s success was the opportunity of inspiration I took to believe in myself being enough.
What music do you like?
Any music that isn’t monotonous or just the template/stereotype of a culture without genuine expression.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
Seeing my cousins at church, meeting up at one of their houses with my uncle on the grill for dinner after, and wrestling each other for hours until mom’s yelling at my little brother to find his shoe at three in the morning so we can go home.
Something people don’t know about you?
I learned how to ride horses bareback for “Logan”…in basketball shorts. I didn’t fully recover until after shooting. I’m pretty sure the coaches just laughed at my struggle.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Accomplishing a goal.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Dave Chappelle, he just feels like my really cool uncle I’ve yet to meet. I have a lot that I want to tell him and a lot I want to learn from him.
What do you like to watch on TV?
“One Punch Man.”
What is your favorite healthy food?
The Greek salad at 101 Coffee in Hollywood
And your favorite cheat food?
I dislike the term “cheat food,” but I get it. Enchiladas, tacos, chilaquiles and tamales.
