Check out our interview with talented pop artist, songwriter, and producer Sarah Reeves who recently released her long-awaited 16-track album “Best Days.”
Holding writing credit on every track, Reeves explores an entire spectrum of emotions on Best Days. Anchored by the title cut and inspired by the summer breeze of Los Angeles, where she recorded the full-length effort, the songstress blends organic instrumentation, electronic elements, and vulnerable lyricism to craft a record that’s timeless in the stories it tells, yet modern in the sonics it brings to life.
“This album was made during one of the toughest emotional seasons of my life,” Reeves admits. “‘Best Days’ was one of the first songs we wrote for the album. It laid the groundwork for the sound and theme. I sang it, anticipating the future amid brokenness in my life. I sing from a different and deeper place on this album than ever. I hope it inspires every person who listens. I believe the best days are truly ahead of us.”

Can you describe your sound in three words?
Vulnerable, inspirational, and fun.
Do you ever get nervous?
I usually get butterflies before performing, but they fade quickly once I’m on stage.
Tell us about your new album, Best Days.
This album is full of ups and downs, mixed emotions, fun, happy, and sad, with organic instrumentation mixed with electronic pop elements woven throughout. I sing from a different and deeper place on this album than ever. I hope it inspires every person who listens. The best days are truly ahead of us.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The most rewarding part of my work is hearing how the music has impacted people’s lives. I love hearing stories from the fans and engaging with them.
What advice would you give to your younger self, and why?
I would say don’t worry and don’t rush the process. It’s all about the journey, and even though it will be challenging at times, it will turn into a beautiful story. It always works out in the end.
If you were a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
“Why Behind the What” There’s always a why behind the what. I say this phrase often when I lose patience with someone or don’t understand someone. I try to analyze and dig beyond the surface to have grace for that person. The book would ultimately be stories of different backgrounds, different types of people, and what made them the way they are now. I want to love, co-work, communicate, and help others do the same.
What is your definition of happiness?
Happiness is having joy and peace even when things feel unsettled or challenging. Being with people I love and knowing I’m loved is happiness.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Corrie Ten Boom. In high school, I read her books and stories of how she survived the holocaust and helped others escape. I would have loved to meet her.
What would be your dream holiday, and who would you go with?
I’ve always wanted to go to the Maldives. I dream of going with a romantic partner one day when I find someone! =)
Best advice ever given?
Someone once told me not to be too focused on tomorrow that you miss out on today. As someone who’s always looking toward the future, it’s a reminder for me to relax, enjoy the moments (even small ones), be grateful, and be present today.
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car or for karaoke?
“Since You’ve Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson is a throwback but a favorite for karaoke or a road trip.
What do you think of social media?
Social media is a fantastic tool for connecting and engaging with fans. It can sometimes be overwhelming, but social media has grown my fan base and helped push my music worldwide. So for that, I’m grateful.
Where can we follow you?
You can follow me on Instagram, where I’m most active @sarahreevesmusic and TikTok!
What’s next for Sarah Reeves in 2024?
I’m releasing a deluxe version of my Christmas album, which I’m very excited about! It is very jazzy/traditional and one of my favorite projects ever. I’m also planning some more traveling and tour dates for 2024, so keep up with me and follow along for more updates.
