Hi Chloe! Please tell us a little about yourself?
Hi!! I live in Los Angeles, and I make music/art every single day of my life. Everything I do, I do with a creative eye to it. I am getting ready to release my first single “Element” which I am so excited about! I can’t wait for the world to hear it!
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Loving, fearless and artistic.
How did you get your start in the music industry?
I started recording songs and collaborating with producers and musicians in high school, but I’ve lived a lot of different lives and somehow, I’ve found my way back to music.
How has music changed your life?
Music changed my life by saving my life. It allows/allowed me to experience life longer. Without music who knows where I would be.
Describe your sound in 3 words.
Punk, freedom, and lyrical.
Who influences you and why did you choose to start making music?
I have a lot of creative influences. My main creative influence is Andy Warhol. He started a movement in the pop art world by not caring what others thought and just doing what he loved creatively. He didn’t allow anything to get in his way especially during that time. I chose to start making music because honestly, it just made me feel whole. Music gives me purpose; it keeps me breathing and wanting more out of life. Music allows me to get in touch with all of my emotions in a healthy and creative way. I always thought it was such a beautiful thing when you can turn pain into beauty.
Do you play any instruments?
I play a little bit of keys and guitar.
Tell us about your debut single “Element.”
My single “Element” is about being free and having fun with your friends. It’s the type of song you listen to before a night out with your friends when you’re getting ready to be in your element.
What’s the story behind the song?
The story is really just about being confident and not giving a fuck about what other people think. Nobody can judge your element because your element gives you your confidence and empowerment.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
The process. The process it takes to create something, and of course the finished product. Playing my music to friends and family and seeing their face light up is so rewarding.
What would you say are the greatest lessons you’ve learned so far?
Always trust myself and listen to my heart.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
I would tell my younger self to put her seat belt on because it’s going to be one hell of a rollercoaster. I really struggled when I was younger. I struggled with mental health issues and substance abuse. Now, as an adult that has overcome all of that I am grateful I really held on tight.
How would your best friend describe you?
Creative, out-of-the box thinker and a dog lover.
If you were a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
“The Never-Ending Story” because life keeps going and I will keep growing and evolving. The story will continue on.
What’s next for Chloe Star in 2023?
I will be releasing my EP this year which I am so excited about!
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is so fluid. I go from dark grunge to pop art-colored days. Fashion is a huge part of my life because that’s another way I self-express. Most of the time my outfits don’t make sense to others, but they definitely make sense to me!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Feeling comfortable in your skin and with who you are. Self-love and self-freedom!
If you could meet someone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Andy Warhol! I would love to make art with him and just be in his presence.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Always remember who you are and where you came from.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I see myself on tour, touring the world, sharing my story, inspiring people.
Favorite song of all time and why?
Jumper by Third Eye Blind!
