Hi Cooper, please tell us a little about you?
Hi, I’m Cooper, singer and recording artist based in Los Angeles. I was born in satanic Russia and dreamed about living in the states since I was 6. I was so fascinated by the culture and music.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Pop urban saucy
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston are my two biggest idols. I’m in love with big beautiful soulful voices.
Do you play any instruments?
Piano and harp
Tell us about your new single “The Answers?”
I’m so exited about this release. I wrote the song for another artist but decided to keep for myself. Durand loved the record and suggested a duet. It was really fun and creative.
What’s the story behind the song?
I was talking about people’s fear and weaknesses. I wrote the concept during the pandemic where the world got scared of unknown. It felt like everyone needs to center and balance. I want people to think that they have all the answers already. It’s true. We don’t need anybody else to tell us anything. We know all of it. We just gotta trust ourselves.
How was working with R&B sensation Durand Bernarr?
Amazing. He brought lots of swag and feel to the record. He’s so talented
Now tell us about the feeling of the huge success of your previous hit singles “Party by Myself,” and “Not Perfect?”
Grateful for it. Love hearing people sing it and streaming. Those records are so special to my heart.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
I feel very rewarded even in the presses of making music. The excitement of new creation is what makes this journey the best journey ever.
What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
To rely on myself always.
You wanna do it great, so it yourself
What is your own definition of happiness?
Love. To feel love and be loved.
