Check out our interview with singer and actress Antonia Grace.
Antonia Grace has already outlasted many in the acting and music world – a fact which is all the more remarkable as she is still only ten years old! Her latest single is My Little Ten, a track which sees Antonia realizing that the world isn’t always a fairy tale and of her first impressions of adult problems, whether they be climate change, pandemics or hatred.
Perhaps even more remarkably, Antonia Grace’s inspiration to take vocal coaching lessons and release her music is none other than Depeche Mode singer, Dave Gahan! Taken by her parents to see the band when she was seven, she became obsessed with appearing on stage in front of such an adoring audience herself and has never looked back.

Hi Antonia, please tell us a little about you?
Hello ! I was born in the suburbs of Paris. At the age of 5 I entered in local Drama school and later on I joint in the International Music Theatre Academy in Paris. At the age of 7, I even performed on stage in front of 1000 people making my own stand up show with famous actors. I quickly understood that the singing part was my favourite, and I asked my parents to develop myself in this direction. One year ago, I had a vocal audition organised by International Jury from the Music Industry (VocalStar) and I was selected to present my showcase in Hollywood the same year. While in Hollywood, I received the Best Music Award for Music video from James Maslow, known for Big Time Rush, and also had several call backs from award winning Music producers and signed a contract with one of them. My very first single N.E Thing was recorded in the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. Last December I moved with my family to London to record my debut EP, which will be released in November this year. Two of the songs ‘’My Little Ten’’ and ‘’Tick Tock and Bonbons’’ were already released and received a big and amazing acclaim from the media. Today, I write myself all the lyrics of the songs that I then produced in LA.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Enthusiastic, work ethical, humble
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
It’s kind of same story as I described in the paragraph about myself. Just forgot to mention that I am not only a singer but also an actress. I played already in quite a few feature films and series, they were French, American and even Japanese movie. If I could combine acting and singing, then my dreams come true.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Punchy, modern, inspiring
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
I became obsessed with singing and performing when I went to see Depeche Mode live in concert, believe it or not. I was even noticed among thousands of fans in Bercy Concert Arena and was projected on the big screen just behind the band while they were playing. I was like ‘’wow’’. Dave Gahan, the lead vocal, sent me hearts and blew kisses during his show ! After going to a concert with my mum who is a big, big fan of Depeche Mode, I was hooked on performing and have never looked back since.
Do you play any instrument?
I have a synthesiser that I received as a birthday gift, but I should say I prefer my vocal as the main instrument that I have control on ????
Do you ever get nervous?
Yes, sure I am. Behind the scene, but while I go on stage, I concentrate myself on public and I get pleasure to sing for them and interact with me and see them happy!
Tell us about your new single “My Little Ten?”
My Little Ten is the song where I dreamt to share my ideas with my fans and public. I literally love it and insisted to release as my first single from my coming EP. I recorded it in 808 Studio in Chelmsford, Essex with really great team of vocal coach and sound engineers. Then all the postproduction was done by my producer and mixing engineers in Los Angeles.
What’s the story behind the song?
My Little Ten is the song about the transition. A little girl is becoming a teenager. Lots of things, ideas happen to be in her mind. She is observing the world and starts to understand that she is not living anymore in a ‘’fairy tale’’. There is a big climate change, people kill, kill animals, pandemic situation… She grows up and this is what it’s gonna be like. It’s not a bed of roses anymore, and she is gonna be going out in this big world, not as ‘’pink’’ as it used to be as she calls it in her song ‘’my happy place’’. This song purely reflects the notion of time that inexorably passes.
Did you had plans/concerts planned and cancelled because of COVID? If so have you done any online concerts or interaction with your fans?
I am lucky as the touring plans were just on paper, so as concerts planned this year were postponed for 2021, I will be able to make it only in 2022 or for some Open Air Family Festivals in 2021. Though, after the release of the EP in November, I will participate in the online gig organised by CCR 104.4 FM radio.
Which project is still on your bucket list?
Each day for me is a new project. I really do not make any long term plans as I have so many things to do every week besides school: I go to Pauline Quirke’s Performance Academy, have vocal coaching after school, I also join West End MT in January next year, projects for me are limitless and I adore life like this!
What’s next for Antonia Grace in the last months of 2020?
Now, with the release of the EP of 5 songs ‘’London Grace’’ mid- November, I can start writing new songs to prepare the next year release. I count to release the album tis time as I am not in lack of inspiration!
Any loves other than music?
Oh yes, horses. I’ve been riding horses since I am 4 and this is my second love after music. I need my horses to escape from this busy world, to think of nothing, to be free!
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
It would be my great grandmother. She passed away when my mum was pregnant of me and her name was Antonina. This is why my parents named me Antonia, quite similar to hers. I would like to meet her as she always dreamt of being a big actress and she would be proud of me. I would like to share with her my passion and according to my mum she was such a great cooker and I would love to learn some traditional family dished from her.
Best advice ever given?
My mum and her advice on how to breath with my belly when I feel anxious. It helps a lot in stressful situations.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
To have butter chicken for lunch and then go to one fun park. Then spend an evening chatting with my friends and just before going to sleep, have a walk on the riverside near I live and give grass to horses.
What is your favorite song? And why?/What is you favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
I have one. I even sang it on evening karaoke Party during my Los Angeles trip. This is ‘’My heart will go on’’ by Celine Dion, from Titanic. Titanic story is actually my third love. Ask me what you what about Titanic, I know all the facts around it. I can really say I am passionate about. I even have a piece of coal from Titanic boat that is officially on sale in Las Vegas’s museum of Titanic.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Happiness for me is when I am with my family and all of them are laughing and in an excellent mood. There is a Christmas tree and plenty of gifts.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Sneakers on big platform, hoodie, and leggings. More spotish than stylish.
What do you think of Social Media?
Well, excellent question. I wrote a song which is called Tick Tock and Bonbons and it’s the second single from my EP that was released on Friday. Bonbons, which means candies in English from French, are the joy of kids and teens, even adults ! It’s sweet, it’s tender , it’s always colorful and it brings joy and smiles. Today, one of the favorite applications of teens brings smiles, it’s joyful, so I decided to make this comparison with candies.
