Hi Andrea, please tell us a little about you?
Im a 21 year old London based singer, songwriter and producer. I was born in Oslo, and grew up in Spain.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Short attention span
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
I started playing guitar when I was 15, and I absolutely loved it. From there I started writing my own songs. There were no producers in my area, so I started recording myself. Which landed me a spot as a music production student in London. Since then I’ve just wanted to improve my skills and make the best music I can.
How has this changed your life?
It’s given me a great goal to work towards. It taught me to be even more determined than before. It’s also changed the way I perceive myself and other people, and just do my thing and work towards what I love.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Sass, class and ass.
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
My family has definitely had a great impact on me, they’ve all had something to do with music. My dad would show me latin jazz growing up, and my mom all the 90s RnB bangers. My brother taught me how to mosh. Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefan and Rihanna have. Always been great musical inspirations to me.
Do you play any instrument?
I play the guitar, and I’m learning piano right now.
Do you ever get nervous?
Absolutely, before I go on stage I get really nervous. But I think it’s a good thing, it means you care.
Tell us about your new single “Mario?”
It is inspired by the harmonies from En Vogue. The modern production style by AUDREY NUNA and Jay-Z. Mario is the result of having a confident day and wanting to save that energy for forever in a track.
What’s the story behind the song?
The writing process varies from song to song, however Mario started as a joke. Using the coin sound which made me think it would be funny to be confident like certain rappers who brag about having an abundance of money. Which is ironic because I’m still broke. The whole song was just about capturing an attitude, which was definitely not planned out, so it was a fast song to write that was never meant to be heard by anyone but me.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Making the kind of music I would love to hear on the radio. As well as capturing a certain feeling or essence in something melodic that can live on forever.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
IKIGAI is a great book on our reason of being. I find it super important to prioritize energies and time and what we spend it all on.
What would say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
To trust my gut feeling. If something feels off or not right, it probably isn’t right.
What advice would you give to your younger self and why?
To trust that things get better and everything really does happen for a reason. To be okay with not fitting in, it pays off in the future.
How would your best friend describe you?
Lets just say I wouldn’t call her in an emergency because she for sure won’t answer the phone.- Erin
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
DO NOT OPEN.
The never ending story you wouldn’t wanna read.
What’s next for Andrea in the last months of 2022 and for 2023?
To make more music. It’s dark and different. Im very excited.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Carrots. Favourite little easy snack.
And your favorite cheat food?
Pizza. Chocolate. Chips.
How would you explain your fashion style?
Comfortable, Big pants and smaller tops are my favourite combination.
What is your own definition of happiness?
Peace.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Too many people. But I wanna hang out with Billie Eilish.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
No one, and go to Puerto Rico. I want to see Bad Bunny play live in his home town. On my own.
Best advice ever given?
You don’t need to know what it is, to know what it isn’t.
Do you support any charity?
I used to organise fund raising events back home in Spain and I would love to get back into that here as well.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
I hope to have created the music I envision. I want to warm up for Billie Eilish.
Favorite song? Why?
I have too many. But Señorita by Justin Timberlake.
What do you think of Social Media?
If it weren’t for what Im aiming for, I would have a Nokia and not think about social media.
