Chris broke into the music scene in 2019, with the help of Warren Russell, the guitarist for Christian French, with the release of his first original single, Alone, an emotional ballad that effortlessly blends together Indie-pop and Alternative sounds, layered with a catchy guitar riff. He garnered over 10,000 streams within the first two weeks of release — being featured on many popular outlets including Promoting Sounds.
ince the positive feedback of his first single, he went on to work and produce his next song Get Away, with the legendary producer and artist Bardo, who has produced hits for artists such as Trevor Daniel. With the successful release under his belt he released a music video to go along with his latest release showcasing and calling back to the 50’s rockabilly era giving us a reminder of a laid back carefree lifestyle.

Hi Chris, please tell us a little about you?
I’m a 19-year-old singer/songwriter from Centreville, VA. I enjoy trying to find new and unique ways to translate my worldly experiences to music so that people of all ages can hopefully enjoy and relate to.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Hardworking, energetic, social.
We’re sure you have been asked this million times but how did you get in the industry?
It was something I kind of just fell into naturally. I have always had a huge appreciation of music and it always has seemed to have been in my life one way or another.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Deep, laid-back, catchy
Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?
My dad, it was something that felt right for me and something I have loved doing since I was about 3 years old!
Do you play any instrument?
Yes, guitar, piano, bass, and ukulele.
Do you ever get nervous?
Absolutely I try to keep it on the down low and try to maintain a positive mindset.
Tell us about your new single “Get Away?”
“Get Away” is an upbeat summer tune that is essentially about getting away from all of your problems in the world and taking that mental or physical vacation to take time to enjoy life!
What’s the story behind this song?
With a society that is heavily influenced by social media, it is easy to try to show our lives as a certain standard and try to conform to the lifestyle that we want others to see, but not necessarily the lifestyle that is best for ourselves. This song is about taking a break from that living your life to the fullest and just getting away!
Now tell us about the success of your debut single “Alone?”
It was awesome! The song is sitting at about roughly 20,000 streams right now which is insane! I had a blast making that record and I was nervous on how my first song would be perceived.
What is fun and rewarding about what you do? And what’s not?
Just to be able to constantly learn and get better. Every day that I make music I am always learning new things and trying to perfect what I do. I guess this can also not be fun at times because it can be a lot of work and can get tiering, but I am a person that loves to improve and work, so it is not something I really look negatively upon.
What are the five things you can’t live without?
My guitar, Taco Bell, Water (Duh), Abbey Road vinyl, and my cat!
What’s next for Chris Anthony in 2020?
I just actually released my very first music video that just recently went up on my YouTube! Besides that I’m always writing new music.
What is you favorite song? And why?
“I won’t stand in your way” by the Stray Cats. This song is Brian Setzer at his best the jazz chords and progression of the song is amazing. Also, the song portrays heartbreak in a very unique way but also at the same time capitalizing on that iconic 1950s rockabilly style.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
“The Alchemist” This is a book that Christian French put me on to, it is about pursuing your individual dreams, and does so in a very unique way.
What is the toughest decision you had to make in the last few months?
Deciding what direction, I wanted to take with my latest single.
Any loves other than music?
I love to be outside as much as possible, if it is playing basketball or just on a hike!
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
LeBron James. I would want to talk to him about his work ethic and how he is able to make things happen for himself.
Best advice ever given?
You enter this world alone; you leave it alone. Live life to your fullest and don’t live under anyone else’s standards, do what makes you happy while at the same time treating others with kindness.
How’s a typical day in your life?
I like to start my day with some scrambled eggs with spinach and goat cheese with a cup of joe. I then like to see what I have to accomplish each day and in between try to work out and write music!
Name one your strengths?
I like to always see the brightside of every situation and using that energy to make others work harder
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Hanging out with friends outside having a good time.
What is you favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
Paparazzi by Lady GaGa
What is your own definition of happiness?
Being content with yourself and being able to spread positivity to others.
Do you support any charities?
I’m waiting to find a charity that resonates with me on a personal level, but I’m always striving to help out others.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Eggs with spinach, goat cheese, and green onion.
And your favorite cheat food?
Taco Bell
What would be a deal breaker on a first date?
A gold-digger.
How do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully graduated from college out in LA
How would you describe your fashion style?
Vintage.
