Check out our interview with singer-songwriter Juliana Hale who mesmerizes her fans with the release of her latest single, “Good on My Own.” The track showcases Hale’s vocal prowess, unparalleled lyricism, and is set to attract audiences worldwide.
In “Good on My Own,” Hale weaves catchy lyrics like, “I’m good on my own like a shot of Patron” with an infectious beat and her emotive delivery. The song explores themes of heartbreak, self-love, and resilience. Hale says the song is “proclaiming that I am independent and want to focus on the things meant for me and the people that want to be in my life, rather than what is not and who chooses to leave.” Ultimately, “Good on my Own” is more than a song – it’s a declaration of independence and a reminder that everyone has the strength to rise above adversity.

Hi Juliana, we did an interview a few years ago, but I bet you have new updates to share! Tell us what’s new?
Hi! It is so good to connect with you guys again and I really appreciate your support with my music. I have been recording an album and I am over the moon about my new project. I launched a music industry podcast, scored some great acting roles in independent films, and have truly found my sound. I am currently building with my team at 615JJ Entertainment in Nashville and it feels great to be moving forward with trusted individuals.
Describe your sound in 3 words?
Groovy, confident, and meaningful.
Tell us about your new single, “Good On My Own?”
“Good On My Own” is a feel-good guitar-driven pop-rock breakup song. Usually, breakup songs aren’t described as “feel-good” and that is exactly the point! This groovy, Fleetwood Mac inspired song is about choosing yourself and choosing joy after a breakup. I wrote it to serve as a reminder to younger me and my audience that what’s meant for you in life is SO much better than what you are trying to force. And, you are good on your own like a shot of patron, so grab your girls and dance into the next chapter!
What’s the story behind the song?
I wrote this song with multi-platinum grammy nominated producer Chris Liggio in New York after a week of creating and recording. I was scrolling through my MasterWriter and found some old verse lyrics I wrote right after getting dumped. I let the lyrics paint a picture and I decided I wanted to finish this song and turn it into the one I needed at the time.
What is different about this single to your previous ones?
My three most recent singles were not about relationships, and love/breakup songs are my favorite so I was excited to share this story! This song is also different in the way that it began so many years before it was finished, as I mentioned before.
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
Connecting with people after a show or after they have listened to my music. Just hearing people be open enough to share their stories with me because I’ve shared a piece of mine with them.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell.
What advice would you give to your younger self, and why?
Let go; don’t be so hard on yourself.
How would your best friend describe you?
So, I have been asked this before and was really curious to know so I actually asked her! She said that I radiate Golden Retriever energy (I also actually have a golden retriever) with an uplifting and determined spirit. She said I am confident and dependable, and there is never a dull moment when we are together! She said I am very stylish, impossible to duplicate, and have a pretty face to match my soul. That is just about the sweetest description and far better than anything I would have written about myself.
If you were a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
The Saga of Juliana Hale. It is dramatic like me and I feel I have had some crazy experiences so far, so I would call it a saga!
What’s next for Juliana Hale in 2024?
I have SO many exciting things planned for 2024! Lots of music, including a song with the legendary Darius Rucker. I have a couple of acting projects I am very excited about, as well as other creative endeavors with my team at 615JJ Entertainment.
What is your favorite healthy food?
If those organic fig bars count, that is definitely my favorite healthy food right now. Or mango banana smoothies.
And your favorite cheat food?
Pizza, followed by a cannoli of course.
How would you explain your fashion style?
I would explain my fashion style like a pirate who ended up in the late 60s and really likes checkers.
What is your own definition of happiness?
I would define happiness as a state of active gratitude. Life will never be without problems, and as someone who struggles with chronic illness it rarely is, so I have always found hinging your happiness on having or not having certain things to be unsuccessful. To truly feel happy, instead of looking at what you don’t have, I think you must look instead at what you do. Even down to something as little as a new leaf on your house plant or the way your cat sits in your lap when you watch TV.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Maybe a predictable answer, but I would meet Jesus. I’ve got a few dozen, or thousand, questions I’d ask and maybe I could try some of his wine. Guarantee its better than the wine from Publix.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
Going to Italy and traveling from the North to South, seeing all of the different areas of the country. I would go with my Fiance. I am Italian and have been learning the language, so this is definitely a no brainer! I went with family years ago and have been dying to go back.
Best advice ever given?
My vocal coach told me not to let nerves get in the way by trusting the work I’ve done. That really stuck with me because I love to rehearse and practice, so it taught me to just believe I was prepared and good enough.
Do you support any charities?
Yes! Lotus House is an incredible women’s shelter in Miami, Florida, and its facilities and stories brought me to tears when I visited. They truly do the most for their community and the women and children there.
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
Number 1’s under my belt, a Grammy, a world tour, and a fashion brand because I am very passionate about style and looks.
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car or for karaoke?
Higher by Rihanna.
What do you think of social media?
I think social media is a beautiful, beneficial tool for artists looking to connect with their fans. On the other side of that coin, I think it is also a dangerous thing that we all have to work to find boundaries and a healthy relationship to. Watching the way it has affected the creative process among songwriters and artists is very interesting and I am curious to see where it goes next.
