Please tell us a little about you?
Hi! My name’s Kendra Rowe and I am a fashion content creator. I am 23 years old and born and raised in Canada. I love pasta and am obsessed with clothes. Seriously, my closet is insane.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
I am charismatic, loving and fun!
Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?
The biggest impact on my life has to definitely be my mom! She is so supportive and such a loving individual. She calls herself my “biggest fan” and is always ready to help me grow further with whatever I may need. The older I get, the more I learn about her life and the struggles she’s been through before she had me. She is an amazing woman and role model.
How and when did you start into modeling?
I started modeling when I was 16 actually. Some friends and I took some shots on a camera, and this led to me working with local photographers and signing with a beginner agency. When my social media took off, more opportunities presented themselves and I’ve been shooting and creating content ever since!
What is fun and rewarding about modeling? And what is not?
The best thing about modeling is having freedom, however it can also be the worst. Being fortunate enough to have this opportunity has allowed me to build a life I only ever dreamed of. However, I find myself struggling with consistency and keeping myself on track. It’s really rewarding to see how much you progress over time too. Social media is almost like a yearbook, you can see your growth over time.
Can you name a few of the brands you are working or have worked with?
My current recurring brand that I love working with is Fashion Nova! In the past I’ve partnered with DollsKill, Oh Polly, White Fox Boutique, and Shop Cider.
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
From my biggest failure, I learned who and who not to trust in this industry. You have a lot of people reaching out who want to be on your side, but you have to be weary of who wants to take advantage of your success.
The most important thing when you are shooting is?
When creating content, it’s most important for me to feel like my true self. I try my best to be as genuine as possible with my audience. If I am having an off day and don’t feel I can show my highest version of myself on camera, I put work on hold for a few hours and take care of myself.
What’s your advice for the young models and influencers?
My best advice for those wanting to get into this world is to not let small things bother you. My biggest weakness when I first started creating was fear of judgement. Once you move past not caring what other’ think of you, you will flourish. Also, don’t let hate bother you. It’s easy to get caught up on a negative comments, but I promise there’s tons of positivity flowing around you! Do your best to focus on that!
What mindsets helped making you so successful and popular?
Mindsets are so important! Keeping a positive mindset will manifest into your reality. I try to gently remind myself it’s okay to have bad days, but consistency and hard work will pay off! I always try to find positives in challenges I may face and push myself to be the highest version of myself.
When you started your Social Media accounts, did you expected such a success?
When I first started posting on YouTube, I had no idea what would happen. I was able to quit my jobs and focus on content full time. It’s been an amazing journey for me, I had no idea it would amass to working with top brands and getting millions of views.
As a popular model and influencer you are followed by so many people, including young girls. How do you feel about that pressure of doing always the right thing, and encourage people to follow their dreams?
I fully believe we all have a little spark inside of us that just needs to be ignited in order to follow your dreams. I try to be transparent with my audience, to let them know where I’m at in my life and how I’ve been feeling. I try my best to be a role model influence for my followers, but when I’m feeling down I let them know! It can be hard to be in the spotlight but transparency has helped me a lot.
Tell us about your very popular YouTube channel?”
My YouTube channel is a series of try on hauls! I honestly review the hottest picks from popular brands and talk about sizing, material, and fit. I try them on to show off how they look as well as what I would pair pieces with from the hauls.
How often do you upload new content?
I try to upload once a week, however I just got back from 4 months of traveling and have fallen a bit behind. Viewers can expect weekly hauls coming back very soon!
What do you think is the secret to have a successful YouTube channel?
The secret to having a successful YouTube channel is consistency. When people ask me for social media advice, I always ask how often they’re posting and for how long. Posting 1 video randomly and another one a month later isn’t going to bring your channel any success. You have to put in the work creating consistent content, posting lots and it will eventually come!
What would say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
The greatest lessons I’ve learned so far are never give up & watch out for yourself. This is my career, my image, my personal brand. I’ve learned to keep going on hard days, even if it’s a little bit of progress that pushes me to succeed. I’ve also learned a lot about this industry, and how to be careful when doing collaborations and working with other individuals. At the end of the day, I am taking care of my own success.
Now tell us about acting and what kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
Acting is something I am progressing towards, and I am so excited to be working in front of the camera in a different light! I hope to play roles I can really relate to, which would include high school/university girls; going through love, friendships, drama and heartbreak!
Which fictional character would be the most exciting to meet in real life?
I would absolutely love to meet Enola Homes, she’s such a character! I love her troublesome curiosity and drive to solve her cases!
Can you name 3 actors/actresses you would love to work with?
I would love to work alongside Jenna Ortega, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi! These actresses/actors have amazing stories and do an amazing job on the big screen!
Which project is still on your bucket list?
Top of my bucket list is magazine shoots. I really hope to take modeling into print and work with some big fashion names! Definitely want to move forward in my modeling career and hopefully get some prints done!
What’s next for Kendra Rowe in 2023?
2023 is going to be such an exciting year! Very quickly I’m launching “Try On Tuesdays”, where my audience will see consistency with hauls every Tuesday! Acting is in the works, maybe you’ll see me in your favorite show or a new movie soon!
Please describe a typical day for you. What is your daily routine like?
A typical day for me, once I wake up is get ready to take on the day. I’ve recently strained away from allowing myself to check social media first thing in the morning as it can be so draining. Setting yourself for the day can really set the path for productivity! Once I brush my teeth, do my skincare and hair + makeup, I have a light breakfast and set a list for the day! This can include, errands, filming, hanging with friends, etc. I allow myself lots of self care breaks to disconnect from my virtual world into real life, and once I’m done my work you can find me doing yoga, a good workout or hanging with friends/family.
If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?
If I was a book, the title would be “Girl World”. It would showcase being a young girl in todays day and age, and how I built my success.
Now talking about Instagram, can you share some tips for keeping your account interesting?
To keep my Instagram account interesting I’m constantly taking new content and finding the coolest locations to shoot at. I make sure to show off my day to day life on my stories and keep my audience in the loop of what I’m up to!
What is your own definition of happiness?
Happiness to me is freedom without worry. Being able to do as you please without a cloud of worry following you around!
What is your favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?
Currently, “Get Away” by LANY is a vibe to scream in the car!
Name one your strengths?
One of my strengths is social skills.
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Sydney Sweeney. I feel like we’d vibe and get along so well!
Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?
In 5 years, I see myself continuing to post on social media and share positive messages with the world. I hope to be more influential.
Do you support any charity?
Not at the moment but I am looking into working with the diabetes foundation as well as hopefully a positive environmental charity!
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
A perfect Sunday is relaxing with friends and family, a good meal and a glass of red wine!
What do you think of Social Media?
I think social media is so powerful. It can be a great tool for building a personal brand or. business, but it can also be draining and damaging. I hope to continue to evolve as social media evolves.
