Hi Laura, please tell us a little about you?
My name is Laura Muñoz, I am 20 years old, and I was born in Medellín – Colombia, and 2 years ago I moved to Mexico City. I am passionate about Modeling and I am a Graphic Designer.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Passionate, sensitive and entrepreneur.
Name one your strengths?
Persevering.
Best advice ever given?
Persist, insist and never give up, fight for your dreams regardless of obstacles and be resilient.
Who has been the biggest influence on your life?
My mother, she has been the greatest influence for me, she taught me to be a fighting woman.
How and when did you start into modeling?
I started at 13 years old when I entered a modeling academy in Medellín, at the same time I was doing theater and then little by little I started to get into this whole world and realized that I really liked posing in front of a camera, attending the different catwalk events to which I was invited by the academy and I became passionate about this whole world.
What is fun and rewarding about modeling? And what is not?
What I find most fun in modeling are the photo sessions since every day I learn something different like the handling of lights and camera, I also like the opportunities it gives you to participate in musical projects and advertising campaigns since I am a Graphic Designer. In my career I focus a lot on the advertising part and then this whole topic catches my attention a lot, and the fact of participating in such projects is very gratifying to me.
And what does not seem so fun to me, is that sometimes they think that because we are models we are hollow or stupid and that we have not studied or something like that or that we only know how to teach the body, when in reality it is not like that
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
From my greatest failure I learned that whenever a door is closed to you many more open and that you should not let yourself be overcome by adversities that you must continue fighting for your dreams and goals and that regardless of the situation you should not lose your way.
What’s your advice for the newer models?
My advice is, never give up that if you have perseverance and discipline you will achieve everything you set your mind to, that this world is not easy and that you should be careful with malicious people so you should get very good advice and always do things with the right people and who put passion and love in everything they do.
What book should every entrepreneur read?
The book Habitos de Ricos by Juan Diego Gomez Gomez.
What part of your job do you find the most challenging?
I find the projects in which I have to give my all and even learn things that I didn’t know I could do challenging and right there on stage I realize that I can.
What would say are the greatest lessons you learned so far?
I have learned that money is the least important, that some people should not be trusted too much and that one day you are up and the next you do not know where life will put you.
What’s next for Laura Munoz in 2020?
Well this 2020 very good things are coming with the help of God, we are talking to several magazines in Mexico, possibly acting projects and participation in music videos are coming.
Tell us about your recent photos for “Revista H” April 2020?
Taking photos for Revista H was an incredible experience, I loved the entire production, the super professional team, I felt great during the session and now that I see the results it feels very gratifying and I thank God to introduce me to such wonderful people that made this possible.
Which magazine or project is still on your bucket list?
I wish to be able to appear in Playboy México magazine and in SoHo Colombia.
In five years from now, where do you see yourself and your career?
In 5 years I see myself participating in TV productions, taking photos for catalogs and campaigns, I see myself also presenting a TV program, I also see owning my businesses from the effort and dedication of all those years.
What actor/actress do you admire the most, and why?
I admire Johnny Depp for his versatility in portraying every character they put on him.
What is your favorite healthy food?
I love salads and fruits.
And your favorite cheat food?
French fries.
What is your own definition of happiness?
For me happiness is doing what you love regardless of whether they give you something in return or not, happiness is feeling good about yourself without giving importance to the opinion of others, happiness is in the little things in life like spending a Have a good time with your loved ones, have a beer with someone special.
What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion for me is a lifestyle, it is diversity, it is something that you identify with and that you can highlight in clothing, accessories and habits.
Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why?
My favorite models are Laura Sanchez and Kendall Jenner, I like them because they are authentic and real models.
How would you explain your fashion style and what items in your closet can you not be without?
My style is somewhat classic, I like to follow trends but without leaving the classic aside, in my wardrobe you can not miss a good jean, short blouses and mostly black colors (since they combine perfectly with everything).
If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
Well, I would have liked to meet Marilyn Monroe, I really like her story.
What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?
My dream vacation would be on some white sand beach and blue ocean with the person I love.
What music do you like?
I really like the classic, the classic electronics, the classic rock, the salsa and the regaetoon, I’m actually a very crossover I like to listen to everything.
3 things you can’t leave home without?
I can’t go out without my cell phone, my cosmetics bag and notebook.
Idea of a perfect Sunday?
Waking up a little late, staying in my pajamas all day, preparing a delicious dinner and watching my favorite series.
