How did you get started in Modeling?
I’ve been modeling for a year now but I wasn’t as focused and as dedicated as I am now. I used to do it as a hobby because it’s something I enjoy, now it’s my passion and I want to give it my all.
Anything funny that happened during a casting?
Nothing too funny or embarrassing has happened to me during a casting. Perhaps I’ve stuttered, I don’t know.
What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion for me is necessary for those who love it. It’s fun, this whole world full of creativity and concepts, it’s always changing. Fashion is an art like any other and is fantastic for those who know how to appreciate it.
Who is your biggest beauty inspiration?
Marilyn Monroe, despite being a very emblematic figure I love her glamor, her beauty and her confidence. She was a talented and intelligent woman, her beauty was both physical and intellectual.
What are your goals as a model?
This is an experience and I hope to learn from it. I am looking to grow as a person and as a professional and stay for a long time in this industry. I hope one day to inspire other people and leave a mark, find a way to do something positive for others by this means.
Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why?
My favorite model is Bella Hadid, at her young age she has managed to be a muse for many brands, she has a lot of attitude and prints her style in every outfit she wears. My favorite designer is Carolina Herrera. She is a very elegant and glamorous woman, I opt for the classic and this is embodied in her clothes.
How do you stay fit?
Consistency and discipline are the secret. I am very focused on my goal especially on those days when I have trouble exercising. Food is vital to maintain a healthy body. I do not deny that I love to eat, it is one of my pleasures. But when I do, I am conscious of eating what my body needs. It’s a balance, it’s not about making extreme diets or starving.
How do you feel about the controversy of the size 0 in the industry?
It is sad to see how young people completely lose the notion of being healthy in all aspects of their lives, beyond the physical. I think it is mental and a way of refuge is to want to be part of a stereotype that is not real. We who are involved in the fashion industry have a responsibility with society, to erase these beauty paradigms such as size 0 and raise awareness that beauty exceeds physical limits, it cannot be seen by the eyes.
What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
For me the most rewarding goes beyond fame or be recognized. It is the satisfaction of doing what you love, challenging yourself every day to play a different role, adopting a new character, giving everything of me and expressing what a brand seeks.
And what do you dislike?
It is important not to generalize, but I think that in this industry there is a lot of superficiality because it is more focused on looking like a life that any person would like to have, leaving aside the most real life that makes up each one of us. I would like that we as models, were more aware of the influence we have in society, and that we would all try our hardest to be good examples for others to follow.
What other modeling projects have you done?
I have been part of some fashion editorials and have been in some magazines.
Name one beauty product you can’t live without?
Neutrogena moisturizer from the hydro boost line. I literally can’t live without it.
For me it is essential to wash my face every day to remove any makeup, and keep the skin hydrated.
What’s your advice for the newer models?
Never doubt your abilities, believe in yourselves. Always give your best and work with love, there is nothing more satisfying than this. I have always said that beauty comes from within, but in modeling what matters is attitude; to be able to adapt easily and consistently.
What are guilty pleasures food wise?
Everything, I love to eat, it is what I enjoy the most and what it costs me the most not to control. Potatoes are my obsession.
How often do you go to the gym?
I work out everyday for an hour and a half except Sundays, those are my days off.
