“There’s nothing more exciting than developing a strong character and taking her from script to screen,” says De’Leon. “I’ve had the opportunity to portray some very powerful women throughout my career and for that I am grateful.”
De’Leon has worked alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Her list of credits includes the blockbuster comedy “We’re the Millers,” “Vital Signs,” “Sweet Home Carolina,” “Somebody’s Child” and just recently the police drama “The Carson Brothers” as well as the thriller “Angels Prayer.”[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”27410″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Hi Lunden, please tell us a little about you?
I was raised in South Carolina. After high school, I thumbed a ride to Los Angeles. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do I just knew I wanted to get as far away from the deep south as possible. Before long, I was broke and sleeping on a friend’s couch. One day, she asked me to tag along with her to an audition. I had nothing to lose so I went. I auditioned for the part and got it. Soon after that, I signed with an agent and booked the television series Vital Signs. I went on to star and co-star in a number of other movies and television shows.
Name one your strengths?
I’m extremely passionate
Who is your biggest supporter?
Myself. I have to be my own cheerleader in this business.
What was your first acting role?
The television series Vital Signs. I portrayed a young lady from West Africa trying to make it in the United States.
What is the best and worst part of being an actress?
I love what I do therefore everything is great about acting. There can be a few dry spells but I’m enjoying the journey.
Best advice ever given?
Never give up. Turn your stumbling blocks into stepping stones.
How do you prepare for a role?
I give my character a backstory. Where did she grow up? What was her childhood like? I truly become that character.
What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?
I’ve played everything from a lawyer in the film Pure Justice to a Vampire in the horror movie Cryptz and the list goes on and on. However, if I read a script and connect with the character… I’ll do it. I’m very versatile.
Now tell us about your work in the film “Pure Justice?”
In Pure Justice I play an attorney accused of illegal and unethical practices until the truth comes out in the end.
What was the feeling for the “Best Leading Actress” nomination?
What an honor to be recognized for my work. I felt like all my struggle in this industry was not in vain.
What is next for Lunden De’Leon in 2019?
I have two movies filming this summer. One is a thriller filming in Charleston, SC. The other is an action drama filming in Chicago.
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
Samuel L. Jackson. He’s so bad ass.
Your idea of a perfect Sunday is?
Hitting the beach with friends and family.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Anything from the hot food bar at Whole Foods Market.
And your favorite cheat food?
Chocolate
